Moderate tremor of magnitude 4.4 just reported 93 km southeast of Sendai, Japan

A moderately shallow magnitude 4.4 earthquake was reported late at night near Sendai, Sendai Shi, Honshu-miyagi-ken, Japan.
According to Japan's National Research Institute for Earth Science and Disaster Resilience (NIED), the quake hit on Tuesday, May 17th, 2022, at 10:53 pm local time at a moderately shallow depth of 52.5 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 4.1 earthquake.
