Hi kids!!
Whats on today anything special? For me I have to find a Satellite called Measat 2 from the Phillipines ( PS I hate this!!!!!, how do you spell it correctly ) The people at UBI ( United Broadcasting International)in Sydney can't find it so its up to me to find this hidden Satellite. My moto is if its up there I will find it.

[ 14. Found it!! Trouble is in Sydney the signal drops right off, Mike Boulos has a 5 M dish and D Cottle and co had trouble locking onto it.

(The Experts are the ones looking for it Cottle and co), UBI Staff tried to find it months ago and gave up)
I think the Satellite is cross eyed because if you look at that chart Sydney is in the second contour and that is no way correct as most say its just about impossible to get it down south.

There is a possibilty that UBI will have to put a 7 to 9 m dish and thats not possible on that building.
David Cottle just rang me now and told me the Bad news, Its a No go from Sydney..Another option is Downlink it to my place is Brisbane and fibre it to Sydney but I think the fibre would cost to much.

The Program I used to grab the image is V Grabber and its only for Pal not NTSC, the GMA channels are all in NTSC so V grabber misses the 100 lines.

Well I have some of their satellite channels like the one above. Mind you I have over 740 channels in total. Look at my post called Briarne's dads play room in this forum.

Briarne,

Wow indoor fireworks. I HATE when things go bang. Last time that happened was one night at UBI. I was called in as a HPA dropped off and took off two transponders.

The High Voltage was tripped on the power supply. I reset it and it came back on. Then a minute later it arced and BANG.

Swapped the PS and got it going again.

Its only 9000V DC

Talk about UBI, Transponder 14 was playing up again around 10.40PM last night.
Davo the Speakers went off with a super bang! lucky nothing filtered back to the computer, But the 240V to 15v tranny died.

I think the issue at UBI is one of the upconverters or modulators. The HPA is putting up two carriers in the transponder. If BOTH were going up and down equally it would be the AMP.

But since the uppwer and lower carriers are unbalancing, it has to be either the upconverter or modulator as the outputs of the upconverters are then combined through a 15 GHz combiner and fed to the HPA.

I thought they would have to use two HPA's per Transponder one per each carrier,or is this the typical way of saving money for UBI.
