Hello,
I have borrowed a hand held radio scanner with the view to listening in on the ISS. I have it tuned to the Worldwide FM frequency of 143.625 MHz, but have been unsuccessful so far in recieving any signal during the Station's passes over London UK. What am I doing wrong?
All advice welcome. Many thanks.

You may not receive anything at all on that frequency. You have to be in an area where the ISS is in range with the three American stations or the Russian stations.
For London area, you will only get ISS on that channel if they are linked via Russian station SPB.
You may have better luck with the 145.800 MHz. You can either get packet or voice. It depends on the crews timetable and the UTC time.
