His one for you
I bought a Dreambox from Hotchips and I got abused by some fuckwit whilst I was leaving a well know satellite dealer in Melbourne, mind you thats after I spent $$ buying cable and splitters from this outlet.
He quoted???

Pricks like you buying from a grey importer give me the shits.

You should only buy from a authorised dealer.

And when hotchips stops selling them we will sell them for a reasonable price.

Piss Off, I asked what reasonable price, $900 + like others around Aust were selling them for and thats without GST.
what do you think
Fred

[ 06. Fred
I have no problem with Hotchips, they cut a good deal.
If you can buy the same decoder for $750 GST inclusive why in the hell would you want to buy it for $900 Plus GST from a over gready dealer.
Look at Kristal and Dalsat they were selling them and Dalsat still is selling them for $900 + GST + Del.
Get away
Steve

Hey to all,as far as i am concerned fuck the lot of them, you should not be blackmailed in buying them for a outrageous price
$750 sounds reasonable.
Pete

Here we go again!! Just because you buy a Dreambox from Hotchips your a prick, a grey marker buyer, your not doing the right thing.
What a lot of crap, you go where the correct prices are and as above why in the fucking hell would you want to buy a Dreambox for $900 + GST + delivery.
Well I have news for you all, you can buy a Dreambox 7000s not for $900 + Johnie's Tax + Delivery, no you don't have to buy it from one of those so called authorised dealers that have dropped there prices for around $800 + GST and we all know where you can buy them for $750 GST Inclusive + Delivery so thats $775 to you door,

BUT NOW YOU CAN BUY THEM FOR $670 GST inclusive and Free freight to you front door
Where Go for it !!!!!
http://www.austech.info/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=57929

Phil

Official Dream Dealers-Please read the policy if you get yours from HOTDIKS. BTW, why would you save yourself 100 bucks when you only get 3 months warranty. Admin, aren't you the one always saying how fucked the world is??? Well mate, when your dreambox fucks itself after 3 months, don't go crying. You have been warned. 3 months btw is illegal by statute law. So I suppose you'll just have to take Hotdiks to court. It will be great when your dreambox is not working. Which will happen, remember these things are PC's not STB'S. They crash, and crash big time.

http://www.ricksgadgets.com/dreamdealers.html

See who the official dealers are for topfield.

http://www.topfield-australia.com.au/news.asp?newsID=2

Wankers! trying to save a buck. Your saving yourself 50 bucks now, but your buying 1000 dollars worth of headaches for later.

Get a life!
Posted By: rfwhistle Re: Dreambox Competition - Tue 07 Oct 2003 03:14:AM
and fred, you are a fuckwit.

Why didn't you just get your shitty 2 dollar splitters and cable from Hotdiks????

Don't whinge when he called you a prick! You are.

QUOTE FROM THE DREAM DEALER LIST

Currently the most frequently asked question we receive is:

"Is my Dreambox purchase from Hotchip Technology in Sydney covered by Dreams Australian warranty agent, or even Dream Multimedia Southern Hemisphere ?"

The answer is "NO"! If you bought your dreambox from Hotchip, you have bought a grey import Dreambox and the overseas dealer who supplied hotchip has committed an unethical breach of contract with Dream Multimedia by selling outside his contracted area and has therefore been penalized by Dream Multimedia.
Posted By: rfwhistle Re: Dreambox Competition - Tue 07 Oct 2003 03:22:AM
Now, i wonder why Hotdiks won't be selling anymore after they run out????????????????????

Cause they can't get any. SO buy the last of the greys, cause when you want a new one to replace the broken unfixable one you bought from HOTDIKS, you'll be buying at the right price.

Thats quite a rant rfwhistle , but unfortunately thats all it is.It's a pity you find it necessary to lauch in to personal abuse on people like Fred.

If you want to rave on about laws , Dream Multimedia are breaking lots of them.Forcing people to buy from their "network" and nowhere else is a breach of the Trade Practices Act , the word collusion even comes to mind. And have a look at the " dream dealers "...The Mod Shop in Perth. These guys are the biggest Pirates on the West Coast ( as you would know as you live there , as do I ). And WSM , the Dream approved wholesaler , was prosecuted 18 months ago for selling commercial quantities of Pirate pay tv cards. And still has charges pending. What law abiding people. I certainly have no intention of financing these grubs by buying products from them.

It's also amusing that it was OK for people to import them up until 2 months ago , when Dream MM suddenly announced that WSM were the new Wholesaler and any box not purchased through them was a "grey import".Dream MM's friend "Mr Bandwidth" was taking "grey import" orders flat out on Austech about 6 months ago.

As to your final rant...all these Dreamboxes ( Hotchip AND everyone elses ) are made in the EXACT same factory in China. They are all as "fixable" as each other. And you will be very disappointed to learn that Hotchip dont import them themselves. They purchase them in Bulk from Australia's biggest wholesale importer who also performs warranty on them ( which I thought you would have known , its common knowledge )

They arent going to run out. They are going to flood the market with them which is going to slash the greedy profit margins the dealers were expecting and make it far more affordable for everyday people to purchase a receiver at a REALISTIC price.

The virtual "slop trough" for greedy dealers snouts is drying up at a fast rate.

Boring
You took the words out of my mouth
rfwhistleshothisload, I bought mine in the early days from Germany and it cost me around $760 Aus, now you can buy them for $670 in Aussie to your door via austech, you know you have to be a fuckwit to pay around $1000 for one.
Why don't all the authorised dealers match hotchips/austech.
Another thing these authorised dealers that are selling these boxes are telling there customers for info go to austech info, what a contradiction, I think the admin of austech must know that and scratching his head.
Peter
Posted By: rfwhistle Re: Dreambox Competition - Tue 07 Oct 2003 04:15:AM
boring, nice nick andrew? You are boring!

Your rant is just a great as your website. You won't flood the market, you can't!!!!

Your Mr bandwidth did a nice marketing ploy by starting on your website, where is he now?

We'll you say they by them in bulk from Australia's biggest wholesaler??? I ask you and hotdiks customers to check for warranty cards then in all the boxes. Please look for Warranty cards that are genuine from DREAM MULTIMEDIA. You won't find them will you?????????????????

Just cause he's australia's biggest importer does not mean he's not buying all his gear in singapore. (like the hotdicks topfield)Or you know that aswell.

So where were you now?? Telling lies again. People have to buy from authorised dealers!!That's not illegal at all. Where in your trade practices act does it say you are allowed to offer only 3 months warranty. Please defend that.

RANT RANT RANT- BTW, you do a good job of trying to side up people, poor old fred, he had his whinge and I did to. So leave him out of it.

GO AWAY, you bore me. You don't own this site. 36,000 dollars could maybe buy it or should I ask Hotdicks for the money??????
Posted By: rfwhistle Re: Dreambox Competition - Tue 07 Oct 2003 04:46:AM
JAREMT,

You seem like a smart man-the authorised dealers offer you 1 YEAR WARRANTY------NOT 3 MONTHS. I'm pretty sure if you asked an authorised dealer for 3 months warrnty they'd drop the price for you quite happily.

Condsidering it is illegal to sell electrical goods with less than 1 year warranty, I don't think they would. Next time, go to harvey norman and ask for a better discount cause joe blow offers 3 month warranty?? Does this make sense or am I really confused as to why people don't understand.

You want the real deal, you want the warranty? you pay. If you want goods from the back of the truck, you don't have to pay as much now, but later on you will end up paying the final price.

I'm finished here.

See my post with an extract from the department of fair trading
As you can see, you as the consumer have the same amount of rights who ever you buy your NEW dreambox from.
And I say again
As you can see you as the consumer have the same amount of rights who ever you buy your NEW dreambox off.

So do not let these so-called Authorised dealers scare you in to buying at an increased price.

As they offer no better deal that any body else after the 12mths you will have to pay to have it fixed (if you are unlucky to have it break down).
In addition, if and Authorised dealer wont fix it for a sum im am sure that a fellow Australian Business man or woman who will see an opportunity to start a business or expand his or hers business will be able to that’s the good thing about living in such a great country.

Buy your dream box at the best price for you the consumer because we do live in a free country and in a free market (at the moment)

And to the scare tactics that the so called Authorised dealers are using the ACCC has been informed so have fun dealing with them

I think this topic is now DEAD people make up your own mind if you are using a computer you have the tools to make the right decision when it comes to buying your toys

PS
I have nothing to do with Hot chips and do not recommend for advice as I think that they very arrogant from my experiences when I purchased from them in person at there store .
But they sell cheap gear so I can handle there arrogant attitude, the money is better in my pocket .

Jason,

You say you have nothing to do with Hotchips yet you buy from them?????

YES, You are right, as consumers the law is on your side, so WHY, OH WHY???Do hotchips ignore the law and only offer 3 months warranty???????

You must fancy a day in court to get your money back!

AS TO THE ACCC, Wouldn't you be better off dobbing in the people that only offer 3months warranty????????????????????

It's great to see, idiots like you will take the time to dob in a legitimate bussiness offering a legit warranty but your wallet holds you back from dobbing in the real thieves.

May you get a stuffed Dreambox and it doesn't work and the ACCC won't help your sorry arse unless you begin a civil suit to get you lousy $670 back with. When all you've done is saved yourself 100 bucks anyway.

TOOL! wake up.!

The accc can do nothing about people promoting the fact you get a legitimate warranty!

well well well.... I'm sorry to open up old sores, but i do believe this rfwhistle is a little like CathyB in her early days..... Probably looked up all this on the web and did a little research, however does not have enough experience to be unbiased on the topic... It seems that when he comes to a dead end in the discussion, he, as to further his already ballooning ego, finds it necessary to derogitize other people who do not share his 'view' Now rfwhistle... I have a question for you. Why do you always act so immaturely to refer to Hotchips, whisch is simply a business that is similar to Virgin Blue as in the prices war, as 'Hotdicks'?

To my old mate Phil the answer is a big No

To RF-llittle, I believed we were talking about hot chips, as they were the people you were raving about not Austech I believe that they are two separate entities under the law or am I wrong.
Because the link that you put up had taken me to the Austech site and if I had placed a order with Austech I would be buying from Austech as they were the ones that were advertising DBs with a 3 Mth warranty which I agree is not right and may get themselves in trouble .
It does not matter who owns these companies they may be owned buy the one person who knows or cares because if you buy it from hot chips they give you 12Mths and you implied that hot chips gave only three mths and you are wrong PAL

End of line
