Hey ya'll...

Even though we are all angry and disgruntled I would like to request that the use of profanity stops.

The use of foul language is not only concerning the Administration of this site, but it makes users look like nothing more than a group of potty mouthed angries... Rather than a group of level headed people endeavouring to create change.

There are also minors who use this web site.

That sounds reasonable.

It is good to have 'group rules' that are encouraged.

yep I agree with that too

Profanity and over exaggerated negativity come back to bit a person on the butt... Especially if that person has something important to say and it's beginning to be listened to.

Those who want to bring the speaker to their knees will find whatever they can to shame, embarrass or refute the speaker to get them to close their mouth.

The above won't get your kids taken off you but for some of you putting your life's stories on this public forum will.

Something odd with this forum and it doesn't add up.
and may I ask who you are referring to in the above quotation?

I've not seen a life story posted here yet... I've seen a couple of personal DoCS stories though. But not a life story.

A person has the right to post their situation on the internet as long as it does not defame anybody or name their children or themselves. Naming themselves will identify their children and that is actually illegal because the child or children are in "protective" custody. Their name and their appearance is protected.

Names can be obscured - initials used, age of child and that kind of thing. But complete names including those of the children involved can not be used.

Well Docs stories then, As a Moderator are you encouraging people to put stories on this forum?
What happens if they are recognized and lose their children because of this.

I just want to know are you rainbowchaser or this site going to be legally responsible for allowing a member to write their DOCS story on this site? which is recognised by the Department of Child Safety and have their children removed? Remember there has already been one member that this has happened on this site already and was forced to remove all their posts. You seem to worry about the profanity, but you seem to forget that the above that I write could cause huge ramifications.

Hi,

I have told bits of my story on these forums.
Sometimes I think it helps the viewer to get it into perspective of just what happens and what docs do in response.

When I first wrote onto altnews and here I thought docs or police or someone was going to burst through my door and lock me up.
I think it was through the intimidation I had received from docs. Bit of PTSD stuff.
It is therapeutic for others to write down what happens and how they feel.
Of course use one's judgement on how much they expose of their identity etc.

I have posted my docs story on this forum i also have not given any names, I did however use letters in place of names, If DoCS want to come after me for that then let them, I haven't broken any laws!!

Hi,

People need to be responsible for what they type or comes out of their mouths
FREEDOM OF SPEECH
own what you say, I can't see that some solicitor could hold this forum accountable for others lack of insight into typing there stories whilst docs are still active in their lives.

You type it - you own it!!!

The biggest problem with the use of profanity, negative responses to posts and that kind of thing is that it is is fuel for future repercussion and many don't realise this.

For example...

Mary Jones wanted to change laws and over a few years she managed to get 3 really important laws changed which had thrown her into the media spotlight for all the right reasons and she'd becoming well known and liked by many and was continuing to see positive change happen due to her actions.

But Mary used to post on a forum that was very public. Her ID was "Lick Me Silly" and the posts she wrote were extremely negative and filled with profanity and outright attacks on those who upheld the laws she was trying to change and those who wrote those laws.

My point is that when things do begin to change, those who wish to see a person or a body of people fail or ridiculed will dredge up anything they can find and use it as ammunition to embarrass the person or body of people to the point where they will either give up their cause or be forced to unnecessarily defend themselves in the media spotlight.

As stupid as it may seem, unfortunately it's fact. Even the user ID a person can pick can become fodder for future ridicule.
