What is the best FTA Satellite for KU? - AUS-CITY Message Forums

I want to watch movies and soccer on the Ku band. Im curently on PAS8 and I have another disk(ku band LNBF) Any suggestions to what other satellite would be good value for FTA?? Please advise>>>:>

Depending on your location, you can catch only a few Ku birds. Anyway in Australia you don't have a big choice. You already have PAS-8, so the choice is between B-3 and NSS-6 (if you're in Perth, elsewhere you need to be very lucky to lock NSS-6) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/default/wink.gif" />

Im in Melbourne, What sort of programs does NSS-6 / Optue B3 have (FTA)?? Everything seems to be encrypted!:< Is there a web site that lists similar info... for Ku and me? Cheers..

Don't bother with NSS6 there is stuffall on it Optus B3 check here http://www.lyngsat.com/optusb3.html The ones that have a <img src="http://www.lyngsat.com/f.gif" alt=" - " /> next to the channel names means its FTA

BH1 - League/cup soccer</li>
SSC Syria - League/home internationals</li>

B3

Tapesh - League/international</li>
TVRI - League/cup/internationl</li>
Polsat - League soccer + good boxing bouts</li>

Pas2

Arirang Korea - has good documentries and movies with english subtitles or voice over.

When was the last time u checked lyngsat as he has had them ( Pink etc ) listed as encrypted for a few days now And they have been encrypted since the 26th-27th of last month

Thanks Lazersat: Could you tell me if the beam (signal) from NSS6 strong enough for a 75cm disk...Thats the best position for the LNB (O'clock looking @ from front).? Oh...The same question for B3...? Im still on my L-Plates Thanks...DR

I'm in Melbourne with a 65cm dish pointed at Pas8 getting Zee TV and Chile TV. Whats the deal with B3? I have a FTA receiver but can't get anything on B3. I can get Expo on C1 but B3 remains a mystery. Last year B3 was working fine but my FTA receiver no longer gets any channels on B3.

Do you move the LNB around to about 6-5 oclock to get B3 as if u dont do this you wont get it cause the LNB position of it is different to PAS8

It's a universal LNB, it's in the same position it's always been in and it used to work ok.

Would work better if the LNB was on the right position if u adjust the lnb around abit im sure u will find B3 alot easier

Here we use both a 2.3m and a 3.2m dual band move dishes (C & Ku bands also S band) rather than the 75cm or 1.2m fixed offsets, and are able to receive on the Ku band; Panamsat 8 JCSAT 2 Measat 2 Agila 2 Superbird C AM 22 JCSAT 4 Thaicom 1 (now testing ipstar) Palapa C2 Sinosat Asiasat 2 NSS 6 Measat 1 Chinastar Thaicom 2/3 Telstar 10 LMI Eutelsat W5 (Used to also see down to Seasat before CFS moved) So all a bit of fun here in South East Asia on the Ku band.
