According to a source, PanAmSat has joined forces with GlobeCast to introduce PanGlobal TV, on Pas8. This new service will target international broadcasters wanting to reach Australia's multicultural society.
I don't know if this is true, because forum participants, have said it was WMI teaming up with PanAmSat, not GlobeCast. Another thing that's strange, Globecast already has a service in Australia, why would they start up another one?

Reuder,

Thanks for the reply.

We are waiting for Iranian Channels in particular Tapesh TV. I do not understand why it is difficult for paytv companies to bring Iranian channels. There are 25 Iranian TV channels in America only who love to give it free to Australian pay tv. And also 3 Iranian channels from Iran. All said that they won't charg nothing. Why not UBI that has contract with Tapesh and Channel 1? We are waiting!!!!

That would be A3. Then the last one goes inclined like A3 is now to save fuel.
Posted By: LAZER Re: PanGlobal TV - Sun 26 Sep 2004 03:42:AM
will A3 retire and join the space junkyard after the new D series goes up??
Posted By: Learjet Re: PanGlobal TV - Sun 26 Sep 2004 07:07:AM
Free_Sat_Au did say it was going to be retired. I'm not sure what they do, if they just let them drift or de-orbit them. Letting them drift around out of control in the Clarke belt doesn't sound like a very good idea for risk of collisions and debris. I dunno.

It's bloody good . It is look like we will have free Russian channels till end of the year. I don't think any Russian now will bother to sign for MY TV + TV+ even if they offer half price for those who will sign before 15 of October. They(TV +) promised a lot - TV, Internet, phone, but the only they've got at the moment is one Russian channell on almost anreacheble NSS6. I'm not sure at what stage Horizon World TV is, but by doing this (even if most of the channels are pretty crappie they guaranteed no Russian will go to rivals, at least not now. So, the're winning the time

Hi youse guys. Lots of talk about B3 end of life. I reckon that B3 will be replaced by the new D1 satellite. This is due to launch in about one year. This new satellite is a ripper as it has about 20 transponders that can cover Australia and Zealand, or just New Zealand. This is good news for UBI so that they can get into New Zealand. Reason that UBI is not in New Zealand now is that there are no transponders available for Aust/NZ available.
