Took the family for a walk on christmas eve and on the ground we heard some squawking and we found a baby kookaburra. Its eyes were still closed and it hardly had any feathers on it. The first photo below is a week after we had the bird. Its eyes are open and its feathers are starting to grow. What I will do is I will add a photo every week to see the difference.

must of been just born when u found it and the mother proberly dumped it proberly or it fell out of the nest

It had three in the nest, I read it on the net that sometime they throw the runt out. the nest was only 3M of the ground in a old termite mound in a tree.
Talk about a walk , i'm going now 4 one.
