SBB, the biggest cable TV provider in Serbia, is about to launch a DTH package on Eutelsat W2. The SBB forum (www.sbb.co.yu) contains an unofficial list of channels that will be in the "Total TV" package. Note that TV Studio B is one of the listed channels -- hence, TV Studio B is about get its own satellite version, at least in Europe within the W2 coverage area. Could UBI work out a deal with SBB to bring TV Studio B to Telstar 10?

------------------------------------------------
Osnovni paket Total TV:
Cena: 590,00 Din (6,70 €)

1. Maybe this is just for the territory of Serbia and Montenegro.

afrisat, I don't think you read the press release properly, "TOTALTV je prevashodno namenjen tržištu Srbije i Crne Gore, a planirano je formiranje programskih paketa i za tržišta iz okruženja (Makedonsko, BiH ili Hrvatsko)."

My understanding is that W2 will be used for the distribution of those channels to any legitimate subscriber in Serbia (not just to cable providers), at the cost of 6,70 €. The point is that any user in Europe will be able to watch those channels, if they have a friend who resides in Serbia who can buy the card for them and mail it to them. As for UBI, they could create a "specialized" TV Studio B channel based on the channel that will be on W2 -- all they would need to do would be to remove foreign movies and other such shows for which copyright exists only for broadcasting in Serbia, but leave in the news, talk shows, etc.

On a separate note, Hot Bird 7A will be launching in 4 days. If all goes well, Telekom Srbija's TV package (which will allow for subscribers from anywhere in Europe, even if they don't reside in Serbia) should be up and running in no time.

Here is the latest from www.kingsatonline.com (they also have screenshots from W2 on their site).

---------------------------------------------
Negdje ide, negdje ne ide
Krenuo test Total TV-a

Sport Klub
Sve o sportu (SOS)
BK Televizija (zemaljska verzija)
ART TV
Studio B (lokalni kanal, Beograd)

Zagreb:
Dreambox DM 7000 - kvaliteta signala loša, programe nije moguae pronaai
Dreambox DM 500 S - nema signala
Samsung 9500 VIACI - kvaliteta signala vrlo dobra, prona?eni svi programi

Pula:
Dreambox DM 7000 - nema signala
Neotionbox 501 - nema signala

Beograd:
Dreambox DM 7000 - kvaliteta signala vrlo dobra, prona?eni svi programi

Eetvrtak, 16.02.2006 u 13:49

Signal neznatno pojaean, iz programske liste izbaeena BK Televizija.
Rezolucija na nekim programima izmjenjena: ART TV i SOS i dalje u 704x576, Sport Klub je poveaana u 720x576, a Studio B smanjena na 640x576.

Izvor: Satelitski Forum
