Greek Channels - AUS-CITY Message Forums

I'm posting for a friend that does not believe in the internet, do you know what company will have a Greek Collection of Pay channels?. I told my friend that UBI is starting the Spanish channels but there is nothing for the Greeks yet. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/default/confused.gif" /> Any comments appreciated <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/default/smile.gif" />

soon <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/default/wink.gif" /> UBI will have a Package to cater for the Greeks <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/default/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/default/grin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/default/grin.gif" /> no ETA on it but it will happen

Yes a little Birdie tell me the Greek package could be next,I could be wrong. It should be interesting to see what pops up.

Dont believe anything until its actually been offered . since before the new year i have heard that even jesus is making a comeback but nothing has happened YET! I am sure one of these new pay tv companies will come out with something but when is anyones guess. mixo

Haa well some don't believe in Computers. As for Believing anything My rumours aren't that bad I'm normally about 80% correct.

There is a correlation between UBI and Globecast. UBI used to broadcast ERT on Telstar 10, and the same day that Globecast began its FTA broadcast on its new Asia bouqet on Telstar 10 -- that same day UBI's broadcast of ERT stopped. The channel has been replaced with a new Rotana channel.

UBI currently isnt broadcasting any greek channels, but globecast is showing ERT, would like to know whats happening with UBI Personally i dont think its being doing well by the looks of things.

I would not be too hopeful that UBI is about to release a Greek package of channels. I hope I am wrong.

95% sure hah? Then give us the facts! UBI may be getting Balkan channels but they are dreaming about the descent Greek channels. They won't get Cyprus Sat or ERT because they are government channels. They will not get Antenna because TARBS stills owes them 2 million dollars ie once bitten and twice shy. Antenna as a result will only stick to the major players. And that is a fact Debono. All the way from Greece with love. All that is left is Alpha and Holidays in Greece. So good luck UBI!

actually Ant1 is run by World Media here in Australia so it wouldt of come from Greece at all as WMI do all there dealings for Australia ERT Sat the Greedy ppl they are are holding a AUCTION yes thats right a AUCTION to the highest and worthiest bidder who pay the most for the boradcasting rights to Asia Australia etc Cyprus Sat is only Broadcast in Europe and would be good for them to go International doesnt matter if there a Goverment channel alot of Goverment channels are pay channels around the world Also what is it with knowing everything before it happens will it make a difference? Cyprus Sat will not sign a pay TV deal as it is a government channel. I have called them about this before. Second of all there is a meeting this month about the broadcasting of this channel to Australia. They will discuss the cost of it all. This is fact as I know people who will raise this at the upcoming conferance between The Australian Federation of Cypriot Communities and The Cyprus Government.

well i only hope that ERT Sat stay FTA and thats Cyprus Sat comes and is a FTA channel as i know alot of cypriens will be over the moon about this <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/default/grin.gif" />

And by the way Lazersat. There is no auction for the rights of ERT. It has been decided a long time ago by The Greek Government that this will never be a pay service. If it did then there would be such an uproar by the Greek Diaspora. And you can verify this by contacting The Greek Embassy in Canberra.

Lets keep our fingers crossed for Cyprus Sat being fta.

Same with me. I sent them emails and letters. I got no replies. One day I phoned and demanded to speak to their Director. And guess what? I got through and had a descent chat. That is the only way we will prevail. By making lots of phone calls, sending lots of letters and emails.

It may do, Lazersat. You can help by getting as many of you Greek mates to do the same as you. That is to send emails and letters. They can not ignore us forever.

yes well myself i send them the same email nearly every month and others i know do the same they may not reply but atleast we know someone on the other end reads them and see's that will keep at it until we see a result <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/default/wink.gif" />

Thats right. There are also people in Adelaide that are trying to set up a petition. They are waiting though to see what happens at the conferance in Cyprus.

I will let you know. I have a feeling it won't be easy. But atleat the Cyprus Government does see a need for it. It all depends on the Cyprus budget and state of economy.

whats the email address for Cyprus Sat, the more emails sent the more chances of something happpening.

Lazersat, who is azandis? I may send emails here as well. Also, it is a good idea to send your emails to The Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Cyprus Sat is owned by The Cyprus Government.

Well i sent emails to both addresses yesterday now ill wait a week for a reply before i reattempt to send another email.

i wouldt hold my breath like i said i have sent them heaps of emails in the last year and not 1 reply? but atleast someone there is reading them
