Well the UBI 7 channel Spanish package is finally up and running. now I wonder what Tv Chile and TV Globo are going to do.
1/Join UBI for a even greater Spanish package
2/Join another provider but who will subscribe to them
3/Or will they just pack up and go home, remember TV Globo is on intelsat 701 and waiting for a Provider and I have a feeling we will find out very soon which way they will swing. What a super great Spanish package it will be if TV Globo and TV Chile join UBI

Yes same for my friend that live in South Brisbane he loves the UBI package, he is ringing UBI first thing on monday morning, I don't live far from Phil and we all went over his place today just in time to catch all the spanish channels working and he was pleased, my friends dish is up, box connected and ready to go.

I called Selectv a few days ago to enquire about their proposed Italian service (since UBI had previously indicated that they wont be doing one!) Anyway, all that they were able to confirm at this stage was that THEY WILL be broadcasting Tv Chile, together with TVE, and expect to do so by the end of May. These are the only ethnic channels so far confirmed by them.
I reckon that even if they did get TV Globo, (and like someone said before) I would still think that its NO CONTEST compared to the excellent package UBI have put together for the Latino community.

As a matter of interest - and sorry if this is a little off topic for this thread - I was wondereing if Liski is able to indicate if an italian service was still OFF the agenda in UBI's foreseeable future? I was hoping that with the liklihood of UBI accessing another transponder, this may have enabled the option for an italian service - Guess I can only dream ...or maybe I should just brush up on my spanish!!
Thanks

Previously TV Chile dumped UBI for nof agreeing on many issues, Now TV Chile will beg UBI for access to the Latino package...........

slammin,

I have not heard anything about an Italian Package.

I personally don't think it will happen as the amount of Italian subscribers TARBS had versus the channels it wasn't worth it.

[ 22. May 2005, 10:54 AM: Message edited by: LISKI WORLD TV ]
