It has been bought to my attention from a New UBI Spanish customer that he was charged over $400 and under $600 just to move the dish from Pas 8 to Optus B3. NOW THIS IS A DISGRACE AND NOTHING BUT A RIP OFF AND ITS NOT ON.
For anyone getting their dish moved and Box adjusted
with the correct frequencies a Fair price for a single story is $100, For a double storey $150 any more above that is a rip off.
Please anyone thats thinks they have been overcharged please send me the details and I will pass it futher.

Somehow I don't believe this but you never know. If this is true I'm shocked that someone would charge that much for a repoint.

Customers are advised when calling UBI that a repoint is $70-$75 for a standard 1 or 2 storey house with a Preferred Installer.

Yes I know the exact amount but I will not put it on
this Public forum. I'm being generous saying $150 anything over $200 is a super rip off.
You dont know the worse part the ex-tarbs customers asked this guy to installe a big dishes to watch TVE on ASIA2C and the preferred installer cut the coax comming from the KU Dish to install the C dish and now that he goes back to reconnect the KU dish to get U>B>I he charged $500 exactly for the whole installation for running a new coax cable to a new point in the house and repoint the KU dish to B3 is that fair I wonder....

here is another one...in the west an installer (suggested by UBI)...is selling the boxes for $220 to $250 with 1 year warranty....sounds fair???? there is more, this guy does not want to give you a receipt, so what would happen if there is something wrong with the unit????

since there is no proof of purchase then he may not want to fix or exchange the unit....also I heard that someone who bought a unit from him managed to get a receipt from this guy...but the receipt was for a much lesser amount....
U.B.I you better check this appointed installers,Otherwise they will cost you a very expensive procedure in the future,I have so many spanish people complaining to me and i always said there is nothing to do with U.B.I they only sell the signal I said..They are wondering who will replece the lnbf when they are faulty they assume U.B.I because the installer was referred by U.b.i they said..I am talking about the latin package..

megb68,

There was a reason why he wasn't giving out receipts and its been sorted out. Regarding proving a receipt with a lesser amount well I have no idea about that.

ELECSAT,

The customer is reasonable for the equipment on their premise.

If the equipment is faulty within the warranty then the Installer would of course replace any faulty equipment. If it falls outside of the warranty then the customer would liable for any fees.

UBI only provide you with the Preferred Installer numbers as they know the MDS Decoders inside and out so they know what to do and most of them worked for TARBS.

I have heard many complaints from customers who have called technicians that they have found in the Yellowpages or through friends who they asked to come to realign the dish and left with no settings changed in the decoder and the signal level and signal quality too low to pick up anything and had to call them back – the problem then become trying to get the technician to come back.

[ 22.
