with the signal level ubi 3100 box, what is the minimum limit will be enough? my one is max 20 now..
Posted By: Liski Re: tecniqual question - Mon 10 Oct 2005 10:22:PM
Smyrna,

On the STB3100 the Signal Level must be above 55/60 and the Signal Quality must be above 45/50.
Posted By: ShaRp Re: tecniqual question - Mon 10 Oct 2005 10:24:PM
can u still watch it?

all i can say i used to watch it with 35. dont know if u can watch it if u have lower than that.
Posted By: smyrna Re: tecniqual question - Mon 10 Oct 2005 10:26:PM
so 20 is not enough ,
how can i improve to the 50?
Posted By: smyrna Re: tecniqual question - Mon 10 Oct 2005 10:27:PM
customer rep, says less than that level u can watch it... so i am still trying everywhere...
Posted By: smyrna Re: tecniqual question - Mon 10 Oct 2005 10:28:PM
sorry says "u can't watch it"
Posted By: Liski Re: tecniqual question - Mon 10 Oct 2005 10:28:PM
Smyrna,

You'll need to get a technician to check the dish for you.

The SL and SQ must be at the levels I wrote above. When UBI do a change in the line-up or add any new changes the IRD will not be able to recieve the update stream. Most times if the SL/SQ drops to low levels your IRD will go to Program Not Authorised.

Posted By: smyrna Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 03:43:AM
ok. i tried it. just wanto ask , with FTA channels showing very well (signal level 50-60) but with UBI box(3100) signal level between 10-25 is it normal?
Posted By: LAZER Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 03:44:AM
last time i hooked up my tarbs box i was getin 60% Signal and 65% Quality on my 90cm

Just make sure your dish is aligned properly is about it
Posted By: smyrna Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 03:46:AM
so did u move your dish or lnb?
Posted By: LAZER Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 03:47:AM
nothing i setup my dish for B3

Tarbs Box gives me 60% Signal and 65% Quality for UBI Channels

My FTA Box gives me 88% Signal and 90% Quality ( Sometimes higher depending on the weather ) for UBI Channels
Posted By: smyrna Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 03:49:AM
ok then i dont have to move my dish out... what 's the problem then?
Posted By: LAZER Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 03:50:AM
Why dont u just leave it in the position its in and and just move it up and down and see if that makes a difference as ur elevation might be out
Posted By: smyrna Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 03:53:AM
my fta channels gives me 50% -55%
Ubi channels signal is only 20 -25% so everything looks normal...
i should find another location , but cant my balcony distanced..
Posted By: LAZER Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 03:54:AM
If you want just try wat i said about the elevation it might fix it you never know unless you try

Posted By: Liski Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 04:17:AM
FTA Decoders and the TARBS Decoders show the SL/SQ differently.

The SL must be above 60 and SQ above 45/50 for UBI.
Posted By: smyrna Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 05:24:AM
yess now i rich to the level 40% -)
Posted By: Liski Re: tecniqual question - Tue 11 Oct 2005 02:15:PM
It still needs to be higher. With a SL40 you will not be able to create a contract.

You always have two things to adjust. 1/ the dish 2/
the LNBF Skew angle slightly to the left or right.

Yes
Posted By: LAZER Re: tecniqual question - Thu 20 Oct 2005 02:37:PM
I'm pretty sure the tarbs box wont work with a universal lnb on its own

You will need to loop it thru another FTA box and put 10600 in the FTA with the 22khz on ans set the high and low to 10600 on the tarbs box as this is the only way it will work as the tarbs box doesnt support the 22khz switching

Posted By: LAZER Re: tecniqual question - Mon 24 Oct 2005 08:22:PM
You should use a 11300 LNB with the TARBS box and if u can get a Acer Brand one even better as i find Acer to be the best ones for 11300
