Posted By: Darth Vader Re: Balkans tv Channels - Thu 21 Jul 2005 05:00:PM
King Curtis,
TV+ only provides 3 (low quality) channels. The Three channels in question are Pink, Pink extra and BN.
Pink and Pink extra just have grand show and Spanish soaps on all day and BN has some music and that same english movie for the last 7 months about that english ship going into that yugo port and that chick wanting to sacrifice herself so the english would not bother her. I’m not kidding her it’s the one and only movie!!!! They must think we are mental cases living in an asylum!!!
If you subscribe to the “Serb” package you don’t get the russian ones and vice versa! And NO, absolutly NO english channels! That’s it mate, 3 blurry channels, like it or lump it!
All three are downlinked from the US, so the signal has been converted from PAL to NTSC back to PAL again. This has made it blury and unless its a closeup of the person, you cannot recognise the person.

Pathetic!!!

Vlad…

King!!
TARBS not Turbs.
TV Plus not plus tv

As Lazersat said that is 100% correct you only get the Balkans channels and nothing else as they have nothing else to give you except for a poor quality on their video. Who knows they might have fixed the problem by now but I doubt it.

I know this isn't really on topic. Does anybody know anything about Big Brother in Serbia? I've heard so many things, that it's going to be on RTS, but I've also read that it'll be on B92. So does anybody know what's going on and when will it air? Cheers!

Big Brother Serbia will be shown on B92 according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Brother_television_program

ooops,

I was going to say that I totally agree with YU4CFG that Latinica was the only show worth watching (dunno about the other popular show ''Nedeljom u 2'' if its showing on satellite), I wouldn't even mind paying $25 just to see Denis Latin stand up against the craotian nationalists and criminals and the whole corrupt system of the so called ''Lijepa Nasa'' but now that the show is banned all I can say is ; "Shame on you HRT''. I'm definetely not subscribing to their channel.

They had quite a lot good talk shows, not much music (and the choice wasnt that great). I would not pay 25 a month for one ch for a few reasons... one of them is they repeat a lot as yu4cfg said, the quality of pic wasnt that great and so on. I agree some shows on there were all about "big croatia" and the so on...but then again I simply block out politics and just change it to something else..
All I am saying it was ok to flick to it from time to time but not worth 25 alone...Has to be included in sum sort of a package..We still dont have news of TV Nova (something close to cros version of pink) come to aus???!!!

EUTELSAT COMMUNICATIONS AND TELEKOM SRBIJA ANNOUNCE NEW CONTRACT
FOR LEASE OF CAPACITY ON HOT BIRD™ 7A SATELLITE
Paris 4 January 2006
Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) and Telekom Srbija today announced the
signature of a contract for the lease of capacity on the HOT BIRD™ 7A broadcast satellite,
which is scheduled for launch on 21 February 2006. The contract concerns one HOT BIRD™
7A transponder for an initial period of three years, extendable to five.
Telekom Srbija, Serbia’s leading telecommunications operator, will use the capacity to
develop a new offer of digital broadcasting services via a digital platform which will be
operational for HOT BIRD™ 7A’s entry into commercial service. It will support the
development of domestic digital broadcasting in Serbia and Montenegro, while the broad
reach of Eutelsat’s HOT BIRD™ neighbourhood will also enable reception of channels
throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, thereby providing a connection for the
region’s expatriate population. Eutelsat’s HOT BIRD™ neighbourhood reaches a measured
audience of more than 110 million homes in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, of
which 45 million are satellite homes.
Commenting on the contract’s signature, Drasko Petrovic, Chairman of Telekom Srbija, said:
“The introduction of our digital broadcast platform – the first in Serbia – is an important step
for the entire audiovisual landscape of our country. By employing the most recent digital
technology, we have the best means of supporting the television and radio programmes of
Serbia and Montenegro in their desire to reach all of our people who live in Europe and the
Mediterranean countries. Maintaining the link between our homeland and the expatriate
community is an extremely important task, which we can fulfil by making our domestic
television and radio news programmes accessible in our own territory and in the world.”
Giuliano Berretta, Eutelsat CEO, said: “We are particularly pleased to work with Telekom
Srbija in launching the country’s first digital broadcast services. The agreement shows the
true dynamics of the remarkable digital age in central and eastern Europe and the key role of
our HOT BIRD™ neighbourhood in enabling these countries to achieve coverage of their
national territories and develop reach across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.”

About HOT BIRD™ 7A
Eutelsat’s HOT BIRD™ 7A broadcast satellite will be located after launch in geostationary
orbit at 13 degrees East, the company’s prime neighbourhood for television and radio
broadcasting to cable and satellite homes. To be launched by Arianespace, the satellite is
built by Alcatel Space and its mass at launch is approximately 4 tonnes. Equipped with 38
Ku-band transponders, it will replace existing capacity at 13 degrees East and, together with
the HOT BIRD™ 8 satellite due for launch in the first half of 2006, will provide in-orbit
redundancy and sparing at the HOT BIRD™ neighbourhood, which today hosts 850
television channels and 550 radio stations.
About Eutelsat Communications
Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL, ISIN code: FR0010221234) is the holding
company of Eutelsat S.A.
