As you are aware a lot of new titles being released are RCE (Regional Coding Enhancement). This means the disc will not play in a Region 0 player, or a older Region modified player []images/icons/default/frown.gif" border="0[/]
So far titles I have found are:
Hollow Man
6th Day
These two titles come up that they will ONLY play in a Region One NON modified player.

I thought the AAAC outlawed the practice of region code block out ?
would this effect a DVD player with region code change function via the manual input with a remote control or only auto detect DVD players ? []images/icons/default/confused.gif" border="0[/]

Hi Frank,
Alan Fells of the ACCC is looking into the fact under Australian Law than Region Blocking is anti-competative trade practice.
As far as RCE titles playing in modified DVD players, basically if the player is modified, the RCE detects this and locks out the player. RCE titles are able to play in ONLY unmodified units.
However I have a Toshiba modified player there is a key sequence that bypasses the RCE and forces the disc to play.
As far as I am aware any DVD player as long as it is under 2 years old and modified in that time period, will play RCE titles, but you will have to find the key sequence(s) that are required for your player.

I'm sure the old thoic site, now http://www.cdcopyworld.net/ has a DVD forum. I read in there the web address for a site listing all DVD machines and had listed the codes to play multi-region and anti macrovision menus. Maybe you could find your machine and a code to play these DVD's ? []images/icons/default/rolleyes.gif" border="0[/]
