LIVE ISS TRAJECTORY DATA

Hi David,

thanks for this. How is this data comparable to:
http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/SSapplications/Post/JavaSSOP/orbit/ISS/SVPOST.html

or
http://www.celestrak.com/NORAD/elements/stations.txt

I tried to use
http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/SSapplications/Post/JavaSSOP/orbit/ISS/SVPOST.html
and
http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdat.../Post/JavaSSOP/orbit/SHUTTLE/SVPOST.html

to get a picture:

http://thomas-wehr.homeip.net/space/iss-position.php
http://thomas-wehr.homeip.net/space/earthview.php

but when you are watching these both you'll see small offsets especially when rendering closeups.

Ususally I use celestraks data an was quite happy in the past but nowadays I experience an offset between the ISS and the STS vector which gives estimated about 100km difference in groundtrack.

Any idea?

The link http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/SSapplications/Post/JavaSSOP/orbit/ISS/SVPOST.html
is where we get our data from. Right from the NASA/USAF source at JSC.

The http://www.celestrak.com/NORAD/elements/stations.txt set can be a bit dated, specially after any maneuvers. But as a whole they should almost show the same location. Both Aus-City and Celestrak get the TLE data from the same source USSPACECOM. But we grab the data a few more times a day, every six hours.

A fresh satellite for Russia's Glonass navigation network launched aboard a modernized Soyuz rocket Sunday on the first flight of the workhorse booster since a mishap doomed a mission in August. The Soyuz 2-1b rocket lifted off at 2015 GMT (4:15 p.m. EDT) Sunday from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northern Russia. Launch occurred at 12:15 a.m. Moscow time.
