Hi Guys,

I've been a proud owner of a 02 CV8 Monaro for over 6 months now and aside from petrol costs, its the best decision I've ever made.

Im not hugely into cars and mechanics, however I have always had a passion for the new Monaro's. Its like seeing a chick in a short skirt on the footpath, if I see a Monaro drive past, I can't take my eyes off it.

Im not a member, and would like to join in some of the Monaro group runs you do. Im 26 and own a black manual stock, except for 19" rims with low profiles fitted.

Id love to know how many other 02-05 Monaro's are in the group, and when your next run is, I assume it would be okay for a potential member to rock up and get a feel for the club in this manner?

Look forward to getting involved with your club and enjoying a common interest!

Cheers

Tim

Tim,

Great to hear from you & yes - you are most welcome to come along to a Club Run. Our next Run is Saturday Night, the 25th of October, to GolfMania Putt Putt at Manly. See our What's Revving Page on the Website for further details. And Yes - we have quite a few CV8s in the Club, including a few black ones. We have two outstanding CV8s that were on our Club Display at the Brisbane Hot Rod Show earlier this year, & one of them won Top New Generation Monaro at the recent Brisbane All Holden Day, & the other one won Top Monaro at the Shannons Historic Race Day Show at Qld Raceway earlier in the year. These two CV8s are just one of quite a few that are in the Club. Oh - and as for Grumpy's old pile of junk HT GTS Monaro - it is one hell of a nice car that he has, so he is being humble as usual.

Hi

I have just joined this forum, but am asking on behalf of a relative. He owns a Monaro CV8Z and he is doing modifications to it:

- tinting the windows
- putting a personalised plate on

and is thinking about changing the exhausts, he wants me to find out if anyone out there knows how it sounds when you remove the two back exhausts and keep the two front ones?

Has anyone done this before? CHeers

A lot noisier but a bit tinny sounding, see if you can mod it but don't damage the original equipment so you can revert back if you have too.

Also thinking about putting a GPS into the Monaro CV8Z, maybe a Navman. But we are wondering is it worth while to get braced into the console down the bottom under the stereo, or leave it on the windscreen.

Which would you prefer and has anyone got a gps in there monaros? Cheers

mt wifes cv8 has the sat nav factory fitted at the bottom of the console. works well only trouble i had was the 12v output was behind it. if you put it there make sure you put another cig lighter plug that can be reached or an extension. grumpy

@ Grumpy thanks for that, so if I understand correctly it was factory built - would you be able to send me an email please of the console?

if so PM me....bowdenp

ok, this is the guy who started this thread, but never got around to meeting you fokes at your next outing.

Id love to do a run with other Monaro's, and hopefully try to become more regular. When is the next best time to join in a big run to get a feel for the club and to mingle with you folks?

Had a look at the Whats Reving page, but Im not sure which events are runs, Id prefer to come to a group drive, rather than a auto show. *hint* trying to be proactive

Cheers
