This gypsum slab, scultped in relief, originated in Nimrud in modern-day Iraq. It stands over 7 ft high and was once part of an elaborate decorative relief on the Northwest Palace walls.

There are approximately 400 of these carved relief panels. This panel depicts a winged figure called apkallu (genius).
