Magnitude 4.7 earthquake strikes near Miangas, Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia Just 10 minutes ago, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck near Miangas, Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Tuesday, June 9th, 2026, at 3:19 pm local time, at an intermediate to considerable depth of 207. km below the surface. The event was filed by Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the first seismological agency to report it. A second report was later issued by the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, which listed it as a magnitude 4.7 earthquake as well. Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Miangas (pop. 820) located 49 km from the epicenter.
