No-Bake Coconut Balls

Found this super simple recipe for my coconut-lover.

Ingredients:

▢ 1 1/2 cups unsweetened shredded coconut
▢ 3 tbsp pure maple syrup or honey
▢ 3 tbsp coconut oil
▢ 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract (optional)
▢ 1/8 tsp salt (optional)

Blend all ingredients in a blender or food processor (not by hand or they’ll fall apart). Roll into balls. Roll in shredded coconut if desired. Set on a parchment or wax-lined plate, and refrigerate or freeze until hard. Once hardened, dip in melted chocolate if you wish. Refrigerate or freeze leftovers.

For keto: replace the three tablespoons of liquid sweetener called for in the recipe with an equal amount of water then add non-sugar sweetener to equal 3 tbsp sugar.

I go as low carb as possible, however, I buy sweetened shredded coconut, so I will taste and add sucralose, most likely, to make it overall properly sweet-to-taste.

I’m typing so many hyphens!

Cold Potatoes Health Hack!

Cool your potatoes!

Chris Kresser on JRE dropped a big tip: bake or boil a potato, let it cool, and the resistant starch forms. It won’t spike your blood sugar like a hot one does.

Even better, the potato diet. Eat plain potatoes (cooled) for days and people drop half a pound a day on average. Spontaneous calorie drop + gut microbiome feast.

Cooling cooked potatoes creates resistant starch, which acts like fiber, it resists digestion in the small intestine, feeds beneficial gut bacteria, and lowers the glycemic response, helping with blood sugar control and satiety.

Simple, old-school hack that actually works.

I do this by making a potato salad with extra eggs and plain yogurt..it works.

High Fiber Low Carb Tortillas

I worked!

I made the recipe as directed.

For needing a wrap, it does work. It is like a strong crepe in texture. It doesn’t taste bad and it doesn’t taste great. I can taste the coconut flour, but it isn’t too overpowering, and adds an exotic taste. The wrap is OK and serves the purpose of a wrap. It has been a good learning experience also. I have to get used to these ingredients so I can make lower carb food with less gluten, whilst customizing it to my taste and needs.

Keto Noodles

No, no it didn’t turn out as per this recipe. Instead…

I halved the keto recipe, added one egg and about 1 cup ap flour. The noodles turned out ok. They are softer than usual, but still good and use less ap flour with more fiber thanks to the coconut flour. So, next time I’ll try:

50g coconut flour
2 eggs (maybe 3)
2 tsp psyllium husk
1/4 tsp xanthan gum
1 tsp salt
1–2 tbsp water (as needed)
100 gm ap flour

I’ll need to test this at some point and report back.

Habits of ADHD Adults Who Succeed

HABITS OF ADHD ADULTS WHO ACTUALLY HAVE THEIR LIFE TOGETHER.

1. They use calendars for everything. They don't trust their memory with important dates, appointments, or deadlines.

2. They write things down immediately. If a thought, task, or idea isn't captured right away, they assume it'll disappear.

3. They make tasks smaller than necessary. Instead of "clean the house," it's "put away 5 items."

4. They use timers constantly. Timers help them start, stay focused, and avoid falling into hyperfocus.

5. They keep important items visible. Out of sight often means out of mind, so they design their environment accordingly.

6. They build accountability into their lives. Friends, coworkers, body doubles, and deadlines help them stay on track.

7. They stop trying to do everything mentally. Checklists, reminders, notes, and systems carry the load.

8. They plan for bad days. They create routines that work even when motivation disappears.

9. They focus on consistency, not perfection. Missing one day doesn't become an excuse to quit.

10. They work with their brain, not against it. Instead of forcing themselves to function like everyone else, they build systems around how they naturally operate.

How Many Steps You Need a Day!!

Joe Rogan gives the best advice for anyone out of shape who wants to get serious: Don’t try to make up for years of neglect in a few weeks.

Start stupidly light - 20 minutes, 5 push-ups, 5 squats, 5 sit-ups. Take breaks. Build slowly. Use the sauna and cold plunge for recovery. If you jump straight into what fit people do, you’ll wreck your body and quit.

Consistency beats intensity when you’re starting from zero.

Research on exercise progression (including the popular “10% rule”) shows that gradually increasing training volume by no more than 10% per week dramatically reduces injury risk in beginners and previously sedentary people, while still producing significant strength and fitness gains.

Best Time To Eat Dinner

Experts recommend eating dinner between 5 pm and 7 pm. However, if that doesn't align perfectly with your schedule, researchers said the meal should not be eaten any later than three hours before going to sleep.

Eating dinner at least three hours before bedtime helps improve blood pressure and heart rate overnight and supports a healthy day-night heart rhythm, all markers of better cardiovascular health.

A healthy heart, in turn, helps keep the brain sharp by ensuring steady blood flow and reducing the risk of stroke.

‘It’s not only how much and what you eat, but also when you eat relative to sleep that is important for the physiological benefits of time-restricted eating,’ said Dr Phyllis Zee, senior study author and sleep medicine expert at Northwestern University.

The three-hour rule is simple: stop eating at least three hours before turning out the lights. That means dinner time can vary based on bedtime.
