The following satellites have been renamed this week: Object U - NORAD CAT ID 42820 is now named BIRD-J Object V - NORAD CAT ID 42821 is now named BIRD-G (by default ???) Object W - NORAD CAT ID 42822 is now named BIRD-M Object X - NORAD CAT ID 42823 is now named BIRD-B Object Y - NORAD CAT ID 42824 is now named BIRD-N Object B - NORAD CAT ID 42766 is now named NIUSat Object AC - NORAD CAT ID 42791 is now named VENTA 1
Thanks to Colin Hurst, VK5HI (great call!) and Mike Rupprecht, DK3WN for the about information Note that this makes Object V (NORAD CAT ID 42821) object G by default???
Nico Janssen, PA0DLO, has noted that COMPASS 2 (NORAD CAT ID 42777) has never transmitted any signals, so I will drop COMPASS 2 this week
Nico also notes that NIUSat (NORAD CAT ID 42766) does have a telemetry downlink on 436 000 MHz Also VENTA 1 (the first satellite of Latvia, NORAD CAT ID 42791) has a telemetry downlink on 437 325 MHz and a Sprite microchip satellite attached to it Thus I will not drop either NIUSat or VENTA 1
Next week I will drop the following objects of the Indian PSLV launch of 6-23-2017 from the AMSAT-A KEP Distribution As far as I know, these satellites that do not carry amateur radio or have failed to transmitt a signal But, in case I missed something, you have one more week to inform me why I should retain any particular satellite in the AMSAT-NA TLE distribution and I will be happy to reconsider
