The CG's Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) supports and encourages participation in affinity group symposiums in an effort to increase the retention of a diverse and talented workforce. These events are valuable professional development opportunities that provide a forum for mentoring, networking, and optimizing career success. All employees (Active Duty, Reserves, Civilians, and Auxiliary) are encouraged to attend. The National Naval Officers Association actively supports the sea services in the development of a diverse officer corps through recruitment, retention and career development. 3. The CG Office of Diversity and Inclusion COMDT (CG-127) will coordinate the Conference Attendance Request and Post Conference Report IAW REF (A) and will account for all attendance and overall cost. Whether on official orders or self-funded, civilian employees attendance including travel time is considered work time. For civilian employees supervisory approval to attend during work time (including a reasonable amount of travel time) must be indicated by email, and reflected in the remarks section of the employee's timecard. The remarks must state the employee is approved work and travel time to attend the NNOA Conference during his/her scheduled tour of duty on 25-29 July 2022. The employee's attendance at events outside of the employee's scheduled tour of duty is not required and is at the employee's discretion; therefore, overtime and compensatory time for work cannot be approved. 4. CO/OICs are encouraged to promote and support the professional development of all government employees. Permissive orders are authorized IAW Ch.2.a.10. of REF (B). Limited funding from COMDT (CG-127) for registration fees are available but travel will need to be covered at the unit's expense. COMDT (CG-127) will cover registration fees ($325 per person) for the first 45 applicants, with the highest priority being given to junior members and first time attendees. Units are authorized to provide funding for both registration fees and travel for members to attend from unit funds. Requests for COMDT (CG-127) registration funding will be sent directly via email to LCDR Roberto Concepcion by June 10, 2022 at Roberto.C.Concepcion@uscg.mil and copy HQS-SMB-CG127-Conference@uscg.mil. USCG NNOA Affiliate will notify commands of whose registrations will be funded. For all attendee requests, please include the following information: Subject: 2022 NNOA SYMPOSIUM ATTENDANCE REQUEST a. Uniform for the awards banquet, if attending, is Dinner Dress White Jacket (O4 & above) or Dinner Dress White (O3 & below). 6. Each member who attends this conference shall submit an approved Travel Voucher Summary with subject line "NNOA Travel Voucher" to HQS-SMB-NNOA@USCG.MIL NLT 5 days after travel is complete. 7. Post conference actions. Provide a brief to unit command (i.e. CO/XO, wardroom, Chief's mess, LDAC, etc) on what you learned and how attending the Symposium impacted your professional development. 8.
