BK TV gone from Telstar 10? - AUS-CITY Message Forums

Unless there's something wrong with my receiver, it seems that BK TV stopped broadcasting on Telstar 10 last night. I'm assuming that this was done in order to comply with the court order with respect to the on-going litigation in Australia. What a shame that viewers in Africa will be losing out on key programming due to a court battle that's going on in Australia! Unless by some miracle UBI starts broadcasting RTS or RTCG in the near future on Telstar 10, I'm basically stuck with no programming from Serbia & Montenegro. I suppose that ja will now tell me that I'm just "collateral damage". Thanks, TV Plus, for acting like a bully and destroying everything in your path. May you go bankrupt and rot in hell.

was most likely cause of the court order that those channels were taken off but the next court case is in a few weeks so things may change and ur channels might come back again time will tell <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/default/wink.gif" />

afrisat I have a member in Melbourne and his friends are from Johannesburg and he was telling me they are very pissed off because UBI has lost the Balkans channels, and now they know that TV plus was the culprit and being the way they are they want Blood. Also i have recieved emails from all places Hong kong about the above, Lots that were watching the Balkans channels on Telstar are in a bind at the moment (very un happy)

what is destructive if a company secured exclusive contracts and want to stick with them? To remind you, TV+ did not put UBI in court. Balkan TV stations did. BK TV and BN TV put UBI in court, so go and complain to them, not to TV+.

No ja you are just biased towards Tv plus . I always wanted BOTH UBI and TVPLUS to carry the Balkans channels you only want TV plus to carry them Why?? i know the amount of people that back in the TARBS days that watched the Balkans/Arabic/Turkish Channels on Thaicom3. Now that TARBS has died and UBI has started up the emails have been piling in again from as far as Hong Kong people wanted the Turkish channels/Arabic Channels/ and anything from the Balkans from Telstar10. So what has happened now UBI will be removing BK and BN from Telstar 10 and that has effected all in that part of the worlds that watch them all because of this attitude of a exclusive contract that has hurt the Balkans people scattered around that part of the world. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Mad]" src="images/icons/default/mad.gif" />

Usually agreements are signed with Court action taken out where the content provider resides. This gives them alot of advantage fighting it in their own back yard. It is a joint legal action with TV+. See the links in this forum to the Court site.

I can tell you there are many that were watching BK and BN on Telstar 10. I for one know two families working overseas that are Serbian working in the communication industry in Tanzania and Zimbabwe and they have emailed me knowing that those channels were for Australia and what has happened to them. I explained to them the above details and they replied typical!!! and they asked who is the company responsible for their removal, well we all know the answer to that. I agree what Phil has always said that there never should be an exclusive contract with any company because 1/ There is no competition which meams they can keep the poor quality and tell you to stick it 2/ They can charge what they want and get away with it. This is not on, this is a form of dictorship. The Serbian and Balkans people deserve better than this.

You can always write to the programmers and register your complaint. I don't know if the company will take heed of this. At least you're getting your input in.

I doubt BKTV and BNTV will be on C band as TV+ wouldn't be able to afford it.

Having 2 Pay TV operators competing with the same channels is suicide as there is not enough subscribers in Australia to sustain it. It is obvious that TV+ had to take court action to protect their income. On the other hand UBI may also have broadcast rights to it as well. Some of the content providers from the Balkan region are known to sign conflicting agreements with no regard to who it given rights to.

I tried everything -Posted the truth about those channels and contracts - I was banned -In revolt I started to support TV+ - I was abused, insulted, framed etc -now I started to support UBI (you all support UBI), so I decided to join the club, what is wrong now?
