People who want to be a subscriber of the turkish package should be aware of the consequences that may arise too late.
Subscriber, like myself like to watch world cup qualifications matches on Kanal D. I found out too late that UBI has no right to broadcast.
All restrictions and rights to users and also all other information must be shown to customers before the customers sign agreement.this must be done for all deals advertised.
i don't understand how come Kanal D has no rights or whatever the reason is while Picture of Croatia shows games eventho Setanta shows them too. as I said, there is more to it than we know.

UBI can only show programmes that it has rights to. Unfortunately, sports is highly contested by other parties outside the country of origin for different parts of the world.

Fox Sports can easily buy sporting events and if it happens also to be shown on Kanal D, this will have to blocked off as well especially when its live.
I like watching plenty of things and they are blocked on FTA and Pay ( Foxtel ) TV due to programming rights.

Why should you be any different ?
Totally agree...
mr_mixer,

It's not that UBI don't have the rights it's Kanal D that don't have rights to show the games in Australia due to another company/channel having the rights.

In other words if you want Movies you are forced to get Foxtel!!!
Thats is a world wide thing Mr Mixer.
i am sorry guys but thats just bull. if i pay $x to watch a channel i expect to watch it. just like with the serbia - belgium game when pink extra was pulled off air cos of rights although pink is the company which actually broadcasted the original signal to santanas and foxes....

you know that many of us only get these ethnic channels because of sports. and then to be told that fox has exclusive broadcast rights just SUCKS

its funny how you were all outraged to have tv+ get the exclusive rights to serb channels here yet you have nothing to say about this. even though this is a similar issue.

im not having a go at ubi and i dont have tv+, nor ubi, nor will i get it untill i know that when my favorite team is playing i will be able to watch it

u know cunts such as fox buy the rights to a specific sport and although there is 10 games a week they only show 1 and hold the rest of us hostage to their choice of games nobody wanted to watch in the first place
I cant watch live AFL on a Friday night , I cant watch several games on weekends either because Foxtel has rights to them.

Easier just to get over it. Or become a politician and try and change the law
Phill I understand the broadcasting rights, But I don't understand why UBI doesn't tell people before they sign up "Kanal D hasn't got right to the international games to broadcast outside of Turkey".If you sign up, you only signing up for part of Kanal D which international games aren't included.UBI misleads people, they let people think they are getting international games but they don't specify exactly what they will really be getting, this is the trick to getting more customers to sign up. Alot of people wouldn't sign up if they knew the facts.
UBI don't mislead people mr_mixer.

End of topic from my side. I can't be bothered repeating the same thing over and over.

totally irrelavent to the topic phil. please stay on the topic
Liski is right....UBI is not the source of the problem..Kanal D plays the game... They've limited right to bradcast the National Team's international matches.....
To LISKI WORLD TV

Firstly i'd like to begin saying that i have been watching this forum very closely over the past few days, I'm representing the Macedonian community of Victoria. You fail to understand that UBI has an obligation to customers to fulfil in there terms and conditions. What Mr_Mixer has been arguing is a very serious matter to all ethnic groups who do strongly follow sports, and i urge UBI to act on this ASAP. If UBI do not make clear to there customers that certain sporting events will not be aired, the customer has every right to cancel there package with UBI. I personally was a subscriber for many years with the old TARBS all though have since cancelled my subscription. I personally no of a number of groups within the melbourne community who are outraged over UBI promising customers a new service with out Airing all of it's contents, inperticularly soccer match and other sporting events. Lisky i do understand your point of view with costs involved with buying rights to sporting events, although if the customer is not being told of this is this is missleading. Rest asure that this matter will not lie to rest, i no of groups of people which are in the process of taking action against UBI for not informing them appropriately. Mr_Mixer in all fairness is correct in what he has said and if UBI do no address this matter seriously, i can not see UBI becoming prostperous amongst ethnic community's which is the driving force behind UBI customers. I've even heard of people as far as going live on the radio and speaking live to audiances in regards to this issue which does not look good for UBI. My advice is basiclly this....if UBI can not afford to buy rights to these events due to cost your better off not airing the chanel what so ever, but in the same token UBI customers should be told and notified promptly before there day of service that certain sporting events will not be listed and state which chanels and which events will be blanked. This will save a lot of confussion, time, money and heartache for customers. "Mr_Mixer great topic you have exposed"
This issue arose a few years back when TARBS was around MR Lisky a class action was taken out on TARBS for not fulfilling there promises, it ended up in massive payouts to TARBS customers which shows that being honest is the only policy.

Kind Regards
bibird
What’s a point of having a go at tv+ now?
For a guy that says he is not affiliated with any pay tv company you sure have a funny way of putting that across.
bigbird, your talk is like your nick name! What this has got to do for UBI having Kanal D or removing from its channel list. For most of the viewers, the National Soccer match was not that important to watch live but at least was transmitted as replay on Vizyon. So, I believe that the general public has much tolerant comments over the broadcasting of UBI. And, please, do not forget, its not UBI, its the Kanal-D doesn't have the broadcasting rights....
I have heard on ethnic radio stations around melbourne and the general consences of viewers not getting what they've paid for. And all i have to say is that there a lot of very unhappy customers. Especially in the Macedonian community. More and more people are moving away from purchasing packages with UBI due to peoples opinions and voices heard amongst the community, there are even people purchasing pirated chipped boxes soley for the fact that they feel they have ripped off....That is just the general feeling and amongst the Macedonian community that i know of. I'm not having a go at anybody, all i am mearly stateing is that a lot of consumers are not happy.
bigbird,

This topic is in regards to the Sporting rights on Kanal D on UBI. What has this got to do with the Macedonian Community that you represent?

The Macedonian Community should be happy as MKTV Sat is currently FTA so they can watch it free and also K-15 is coming on-air shortly.
bigbird,

I'm not aware of any Class Action taken against TARBS. Please provide some facts?

In the UBI Terms & Conditions (http://www.ubiworldtv.com/images/tc_brochure_a4.pdf)

It states:

3.2 We shall not be liable to you for any delay or interruption of the Service, changes in programming or any programming errors.

This is a problem regarding Kanal D not having the broadcast rights for Australia.
Lisky World TV

Regarding the class action it was apparntly in the month of June of 2000 don't quote me on that one, it's not fact it's what i have overheard through conversation. Irespective of the 3.2 clause the company should practice and excersize more appropriate measures to informing ethnic community members with UBI about the un aired footage....not all people understand english to well.

Kind Regards
bigbird
bigbird,

There has never been a Class Action against TARBS. So whoever is spreading this rumor is doing it to give UBI a bad image.

I would like to have one.
LOL,LOL,LOL,LOL
May I explain to you BIGBIRD many years ago hundreds of Satellite enthusiasts around Australia
use to subscribe to ESPN. Now all you needed was a 4 Metre dish A Scientific Atlanta receiver Decoder which cost me Over $2000 Australian dollars and forget the dish and we were watching ESPN yes all this money for One Fu.cking channels and we all enjoyed it.
Now along comes Foxtel and they see that on Satellites above Australia there is Discovery channel, National Geographic Channel and many other good channels running FTA for all to see that have their own Private dishes.
Now Foxtel gets in the act and forces ESPN to tell us to all go and Jump, mind you we were all here YEARS ahead of FUC.TEL Foxtel and they bully us out of the way and they tell us enthusiasts to join Foxtel to get ESPN. As for all the other Good English channels on Free to air satellite that have gone thank Foxtel for that as they want you to join their Blackmail Pay TV service. If you're not happy with UBI go to TV Plus and stop whingeing because you are another that cannot understand the dirty politics of Pay Tv or Broadcasting rights of a sporting event .

One more reason to have Web TV, there's no way that Foxtel or anyone else can block the stream.
