yestyerday one of the ubi operators told me that there some negotiation about channel 47 on the ubi platform. and for whom it concern i knew that ubi is planning to have tv globo on ubi(ch 47) and they are still negotiating and waiting to finalise the contract. can u give me your opinion about that channels. is it good or bad

Brazilians love it! There is heaps of soccer on it as well.

i hope it is good. what is the site? And by the way liski u got great customer service.

Yes and like I said they want more $$$$ and I still would not be surprised if they go to another company like select tv mainly because they will get away with more than what UBI are prepared to pay. But will select TV get the customers, think of that TVGI.

If TV globo goes with Select tv ad joins TV chile we will make a decision what company we want, for me I want TV globo but the wife loves the collection of channels that UBI has to offer and we all know we have to please our women. Some how I think if TV globo goes to Select tv the pair of channels Tv globo and TV Chile will cost you more than all our channels on UBI. Only time will tell.

By the way our friends have signed up with UBI and they told us to forget about Tv Globo if it comes to UBI so be it but if it goes elseware we cant subscribe to two companies. And the main reason we are holding off is UBI has a stronger chance to supply English channels where the others cannot because it would cost them extra to uplink (It has been explained on this forum before I read it someware) If i'm correct UBI is the only company that owns its own Uplinks in Australia and around the world. Can someone please confirm that.

SELECTV and Worldmedia they are a combined services...if u talking about selectv that means u r talking about worlmdedia....ive sopke to one of the selectv operator and he told me that we provide the english channels..and worldmedia provides the arabic ch's..thats becasue i asked him if there will b any arabic ch's on ur service?

Rescan shows the name has changed to GLBO

Like I said HeHeHeHe All they need now is Chilevision and UBI will have the Perfect Package. The Arabs are Happy The Turks are Happy The Spanish and the rest will be happy The Greek Humm I think they will be happy too. The Balkan's well still not sure my Crystal ball is a little foggy on that one. Again HeHeHe and more to come

Even without a Chilean channel the UBI Spanish package has been a HUGE success!! Those 250 people are people who think the world starts and ends with TV Chile. I don't blame them for watching TV Chile since it's FTA at the moment. I'm sure with the addition of TV Globo the Portuguese will also be another success.

But could you imagine what would happen if UBI got Chilevision?.

For $15,000 a month even Globecast won't put it up.. and thats not including bringing the channel to australia..

Tracesat, How do you reckon they are going to loose more customers when heaps a joing UBI for the great selection of Spanish channels. Just cause they are watching TV Chile doesn't mean they have subscribed to SelecTV. I'd like to see what happens when TV Chile gets encrypted.

for your information those people are buying the boxes for hundreds or you can ask the U.B.I installers,they paid 25 dollars for the ex tarbs boxes and sell them for 150 dollars not a bad profit is it? but at mean time they are connecting Chilean people to SELECTV with the new boxes provided by new supplier,open your eyes buddy.we will see in two more months for those people they are not interested in any spanish speaking channel except a channel from the home land.

I have a spare 20,in monitor just for the Dreambox /Keyboard/web browser combination in my lounge room so I can watch TV ( all channels) and aus-city all at the same time.

Guys, back to the subject again... I just received an email back from TV GLOBO. We can subscribe it now from UBI and it is free until the end of October. As far as i know its not on yet As Liski would of posted it as Being On Air in the UBI Info Forum if it was on Air <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/default/grin.gif" />

Just heard that TV Globo in the USA costs $US10 a month extra, so thats approx $13 Australian. UBI have it for good price, its cheaper here than USA <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/default/wink.gif" />

Personally I think TV globo are being a bit greedy at the expence of its people.
