Hi,

Please make sure you do not buy a STB2300 model TARBS Decoder from eBay for use on UBI WORLD TV.

This model is used for QAM buildings and is not compatible with UBI WORLD TV DTH service.

You can tell if it's a QAM model with the wording BDC instead of LNB input on the back and also the SSN Number starts with 1100.
Another one bits the dust.
My friend bought a modded box and it died yesterday
for no reason anyone else heard the same or is this just a one of.
If you read around the forum its starting to happen alot

I have three of my customers that had modified boxes and the three are dead and one of the guys has to take it back to some hacker that uses a programmer to re flash it. It seems`all the UBI hackers get there info from austech on how to hack them.
Found another today thats defective. just wondering i wonder if they can be re-flashed, it a pity to dump them in the bin.

the answer is in the jaremt's first post above.
A jtag unit will reflash the corrupted firmware.

Think of it as a last resort for reloading software into your receiver when all else fails.
Has anyone bough a Tarbs box lately from Ebay in the last week or so?. Spoke via pm's to some austech forum hackers they are buying up the dead ones and re flasing them and selling them for a big profit. what do you think? .
Well I can't answer that one because I don't shop at ebay. as for repairing them and selling them for legit UBI use good on them, nothing better than fixing a dud and selling it for UBI use, but if they are fixed for pirate use well thats different.

I told him to read this forum but he hates the internet and when I printed this out it only made him more angry.
