I hear sigma are showing smallville season 3, also I have been searching for dvd or dowloads of family matters, and they had it last sunday according to the cyprus tv guide. (not on this sunday though), will Sigma be able to show these programs here in aus? also would it be dubbed in greek or, just subtitled?

Thanks
Posted By: LAZER Re: Sigma On Air ( Testing ) - Fri 09 Dec 2005 08:31:AM
I doubt any english shows will be shown at all

It will be mostly Cyprien Shows I'm pretty sure they will give us a custom feed and not the local feed they view in Cyprus

Last time i checked the Topic was Called " Sigma TV Testing " were drifting off it again

Also my last words on this do you see anyone else charging $15 a channel NO cause its unsustainable simple as that no one will ever charge $15 a channel unless they were selling channels over the internet like Jumptv does

Now back to the topic i hope Sigma starts soon im starting to enjoy the Cyprien Comedies

All pay TV companies are in it to supply a service and if they're lucky they might make money out of it but for around $20 per customer they will be out of business in no time. Hey Mixo!! Maybe UBI should ask Optus for a 50% discount in transponder cost for the channels you don't like.
Once again Phil is right.
Sorry Lazer I had to say this.

You call them tight arses, but i cant see why you should pay for something you dont need.

Anyway I dont want lazer to think we are hijacking his thread here so I wont say no more here>start a new thread and i will challange you on this one...

mixo

Actually talking to a close friend thats involved in this industry he tell me that UBI is one of the Better companies that supplies quality channels for each package.
We all know just by reading other forums that for example foxtel's 60+ channels that only about ten are worth watching but for UBI if you did the same calculation per package and add the total amount of their channels you would find that UBI's channels would rate around 60% + in total of quality channels. Now could you imagine if Foxtel had 60% quality channels out of 60+.

What a load of old bollocks

One mans trash is another mans treasure.

Pay TV content e.g nat geo, discovery, animal planet. Is sold based on subscriber minimums. The more the pay tv has getting that channel the cheaper its provided for.

E.g 500000 subscribers getting Nat Geo. May mean Foxtel might pay $3 u.s per month per subscriber.

There are minimum subscriber amounts that the content supplier expects e.g 100000 might be the minimum. Foxtel would have to pay for that many subscribers at say $5 u.s per sub per month.

They pay for a minimum for most channels Nat Geo,Animal Planet, Discovery etc, some are sold and discounted as package deals etc

Better value to get a package with a variety of channels in it.

If you want pick and choose (ala carte) you would end up paying more in the long run. AS Foxtel wouldn't be able to reach the minimums for some channels they purchase. But will still have to pay as if they were reaching minimums
