This has been a big topic of late , just thought I would add that an elderly gentleman ( who I installed a dish for )rang TV Plus over this problem and asked when it was going to be fixed.Mind you , it took him several days to get someone to answer the phone.

They blamed his 80cm TV for the poor picture quality and basically denied there was a problem. So unless you plan on watching TV on one of those little portable 15 cm units , you are not going to be happy.

Boring you are so correct, It is unwatchable on a big TV.
I did post that I wasn't going to say anymore about this as I see the rep for tvplus satfreak has never bothered to answer my question but I don't like that and My dad has told me to do it again for the very last time but this time I'm going to join every Satellite English and Serbian Forum and tell the truth about this problem as most don't have a clue about it, but what is happening I'll give you a example one of our relations has a LG plasma and has just had TV plus connected. Now for the last month they have been watching HDTV via a Digital set top box and plenty of DVD's so what happened as soon as the contractor connected the TV plus box and he got it going my cousin got a shock and asked the contractor "WHATS THIS RUBBISH?", its totally unwatchable on a plasma tv, the Contractor said if you want we can connect it to your older tv where it will be alot better. I must tell you, every day that passes more and more people are connecting to TV plus and more and more are going to be complaining to TV plus about the poor quality because they have been lied to, so you wonder why you can't get through on their phone lines and like I said, this is expedential as the days pass.

[ 11. One of the girls at uni was telling me her parents have just subscribed to TV PLUS and in the week they have had it they have been shut down twice, I did ask about the picture quality buy here dad is nearly blind and all he does is sits on the lounge and listens to it. My friend doesn't bother watching it she perfered the tarbs setup as she said when the old man is asleep she watched the English channels.
Cathy.

YU4CFG
I have installed a lot of setups in my life. I also have done a lot of installs for TARBS itself and now I am a freelance installer. I have moved a lot of dishes from PAS 8 to B3 for UBI people and I have moved lately a few from B3 back to PAS 8 for TV Plus people, but I do not take any work from either as I don't want to be involved with the companies. There is one thing I can guarantee you, the amount of people that are starting to complain about the quality of TV Plus is horrendous, like I said, when I do a service call now and it has to do with any installation from PAS 8 KU, I ask them in regards to what problem. If they say the picture is fuzzy, not good, I don't bother, I tell them I am not interested as I don't have to turn up, my job was only to find the satellite and thats it. TV Plus, are you reading this, you have got a huge problem, the more that connect, the more that are talking, the more that are going to be complaining and as the guy above said Dishsat, a lot of people do have big TV's and they have an expectation of watching PINK on a large TV and I spoke to Phil over the phone last night and he read to me over the phone the email that was sent to him via a disgruntled ex-employee of PanAmSat and it made good reading and he should post it but he said he was going to wait. As far as I am concerned, UBI sit back, TV Plus is going to dig its own grave, they're in a catch 22 situation with Panglobal and thats about it.
Phil please post the other emails on the forum.

Try to pay attention
PAS8 KU = GLOBECAST / PANGLOBAL PLATFORM

GLOBECAST are not in the pay tv business, they run the platform.

TV PLUS is merely their customer who offer the channels.

same as HRT, VISIONASIA, DUNA TV , TV KOREA etc are provided by various Australian organizations via B3 on the GLOBECAST platform.

The Telstar 10 new Globecast platform is a CBAND distribution for hopping signals across from Europe /Asia to Eastern Australia in a single hop

Very likely the same use as what UBI are doing, that they will use it to bring the better quality signals over for the users of PANGLOBAL platform and Globecasts B3 platform.

I was talking to member King Curtis on this forum and he told me he is not bothered now as after losing tarbs they now have nothing and don't care anymore. Like he said he is not paying $65 for those limited amount of channels
Posted By: Notvyet Re: TV Plus picture quality - Sat 25 Jun 2005 02:43:AM
I wonder how many customers TV plus have and I wonder how many have disconnected from them for whatever reason. I hate foxtel for the amount my friend pays TV PLUS I'm starting to think we might get foxtel.

Who cares about tv plus they have made their bed let them lie in it.
Posted By: reuder Re: TV Plus picture quality - Tue 05 Jul 2005 04:41:PM
Just called up TV+, and asked about installation.
They said between 4 and 6 weeks! WTF, all they need to do is send someone out with the STB! EASY! Take him less than half an hour to connect everything.
Posted By: Jedi Knight Re: TV Plus picture quality - Tue 05 Jul 2005 05:23:PM
You wonder why?
Posted By: LAZER Re: TV Plus picture quality - Wed 06 Jul 2005 07:25:AM
why cant they just send u out the box its easy enough to hook up
Posted By: reuder Re: TV Plus picture quality - Tue 05 Jul 2005 08:04:PM
I know, you should have a choice. I guess some older people might want them to pop by and connect everything, but yeah, I wouldn't mind having a choice. Also it would be in TV+'s interest to get as many people connected ASAP. The more people connected sooner, the sooner the cash starts rolling in!
Posted By: Meatball Re: TV Plus picture quality - Tue 05 Jul 2005 09:15:PM
The local installer can put up a dish in 1 hr and connect the box in 10 minutes so why do you have to wait that long, sounds like shit to me

[ 05. July 2005, 02:25 PM: Message edited by: Meatball ]

and if they do take that long they shouldn't be in business.

Poor Tv plus, running a Pay Tv company is not chalk and cheese.
Posted By: apsattv Re: TV Plus picture quality - Wed 06 Jul 2005 05:46:AM
Sounds like Mirchee Digital in Auckland. A 5 week wait for installs. Why?? they can't keep up with the demand!

Any installers around want to work in Auckland?

Just what you need Phill a nice winter holiday in NZ!

http://web.archive.org/web/20040927194550/http://www.tvplus.tv/#

heres, an archived version of tvplus website back
last year in september, hardly anything has changed
on it since. BKTV is still not back, and BHTV remains FTA. They probably running out of money to
encrypt the channel. Signal quality is also still
the same on the pinks etc, and weve been given many promises it will improve and signs of more chans but hardly anything is progressing....
Posted By: Confused Re: TV Plus picture quality - Mon 15 Aug 2005 05:42:PM
Well what else is new we all knew it was full of shit, only an idiot would have ever believed what tv plus has ever said. We don't have it and we are slowly forgetting about it and others agree like me its just an overpriced substandard service.
alcatron
Do you have tv plus? If you do you don't sound that happy
Posted By: alcatron Re: TV Plus picture quality - Mon 15 Aug 2005 06:27:PM
no i dont have it, but some good friends of mine have it and they are very dissapointed...they want to disconnect but cant because they are still in that contract
Posted By: Notvyet Re: TV Plus picture quality - Mon 15 Aug 2005 09:07:PM
Same here our parents have tv plus and now they wish they had somethin better. As for UBI I don't know what to think anymore but still have little faith that they will try to introduce some sort of package
for us
Posted By: Liski Re: TV Plus picture quality - Mon 15 Aug 2005 09:25:PM
UBI will give a nice selection of Balkan channels when they are launched shortly.
Posted By: Notvyet Re: TV Plus picture quality - Mon 15 Aug 2005 09:44:PM

Posted By: mr_mixer Re: TV Plus picture quality - Thu 29 Sep 2005 08:11:AM
and i701 KU French Channels they are realy good.
Posted By: Why Me Re: TV Plus picture quality - Thu 29 Sep 2005 03:38:PM
Its been so long since the demise of tarbs that we can do without our channels and defiently will not pay so much for so little for that quality. At least I expect the basic English channels with tvplus for that price.
Posted By: musicman Re: TV Plus picture quality - Fri 30 Sep 2005 10:02:PM
This thread still going as strong as ever and when you look what UBI are up to and you look at TV Plus are doing it shows you how limited TV plus are.
What a disgrace UBI should have been allowed to get the Serbian channels.
