Magnitude 3.2 earthquake strikes near Valdez, Valdez-Cordova, Alaska, USA3.2 quake 30 May 10:52 pm (GMT -8) Just 10 minutes ago, a 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Valdez, Valdez-Cordova, Alaska, USA. The tremor was recorded late at night on Sunday 30 May 2021 at 10:52 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 6.8 miles below the surface. The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it. Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.2 as well. According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Valdez (pop. 3,900, 34 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
