Yeah, right... I rang their number. Was told they are concentrating on russian channels only. The rest probably in a distant future... Don't believe all their websites claim. They were created long ago as promotion stuff and will remain without any updates for long time...

georgiepie... how long ago did you contact TV+???

Last I heard (friday) They are concentrating on Balkans and are now broadcasting PINK, BN & BK on PAS8.

Early in the new year they will anounce complete Balkan channels as well advise customers of other countries of importance.. Also TV+ ditched Russians long time ago and MY TV+ and Horizon are now pushing their russian wares around the town..

TV+ is NOT selling Russian channels as the market is to small with MYTV+ and Horizon there.. sure you didnt ring MYTV+??

[ 13. contract with tv+ sucks big time

I saw it yesterday.

It says for example, after your contract with them is finished you have to give 90 notice to tv+ if you wonna disconect?!

AFTER MY CONTRACT IS FINISHED??????

Second thing: It says all damage during instalation of tv+ to your property by their stuf even if made by neglect (their), you are responsible for that!!!!!

Third thing: It states that TV+ reserve the rights to change packages and stop broadcast channels without notice to customers, even if that happens customers can not cancel their contract, if they do, they will be in breach of it!

And finally, it never says for what channels or package you are subscribing, and it does not ofer you any free dial up internet like they claim on their website.

can someone from tv+ explain this?

Ja

If you have a look at the TV+ T&C's they are industry standard T&C's I saw them last week and compared them to Optus, Telstra's and UBI's and they all had similar clauses..

Have a look at the UBI T&C's

Page 2- 3.2 We shall not be liable to you for any delay or interuption of the service, changes in programing or any programing errors..

Regarding the disconnect notice old TARBS T&C's from memory rolled over to new 12 month term (I stand to be corrected on this as its from memory) I know industry standard is 1 month notice after term.....

The negligence thing I saw in the Optus contract but since majority of connections are for existing or former TARBS customers this shouldnt be an issue - is it an issue for you??

Regarding the free net connection.. TV+ are running a seperate discount package for all customers that signup as advertised in the Vesti & Glass if you elect to take that discount package no free dialup is available (it will be if you complain hard enough though hehehe I didnt say that but I complained about this same issue)

All customers took up service before 20th of Nov signed a different form that had dialup as an option. Current form dosent have dialup but will in the new year.

Hope this helps.. anything else???

Almost forgot, in the letter of offer they state "TV + will be the only provider for your Serbian and Balkans channels"

Phil/Liski and Satfreak will have to clarify this EXCLUSIVITY statement.

Saving of $150 in the first year will be a big carrot for some people, particularly ones that are not informed (not reading forums like this).

Now UBI doesn't have any choice but to show its hand on a FULL Balkans package. Furtheremore, if TV+ claim to have EXCLUSIVE rights to Serbian channels is correct , then it is all over for UBI as far as Serbian comunity is concerned???
On the other hand if TV+ doesn't have exclusive rights to Serbian channels in Australia then it is MISSLEADING ADVERTISING and there should be consumer protection law against that????

This point on EXCLUSIVE rights is very important and it should be clarified very quickly!!!!!

Its war between UBI and TV plus with with Liski and Bedioun defending UBI up against Satfreaks TV plus.
Now UBI has the Money and the expereince, TV Plus might have some 'expereince' but certainly doesent have dollars!!! Look at the speed of UBI compared to Satfreak's TV plus.
They both started the same time look at TV plus, and Look at the speed of UBI 'its breaking Records '

hahahah all takes time if satfreak inform more please, who what and where with more precise details. As I said many people dont know much about UBI...all the serbs I know are watching it via PAS8 in my area as they think its the only alternative...I think TV+ has a big advantage in terms of that and of course costs in moving the dish to optus b3..well one more reason they might decaide to stay put!

If its true then, there is simply one answer to that is TV Plus wants to stop customers returning back to UBI after their contract expires or so. By giving extra discount for the ex-Tarbs boxes, they will be able to collect many boxes as well as many customers who will not be able to go back to UBI unless pays extra for the box and the smartcard...

[ 15. It's pretty stupid to make the customer give you the TARBS box even though they own it and then be given a rental TV Plus box. Doesn't seem fair.

It isn't! That's why it's business.
If you want to buy a slinline PS2. You can get it for $130 with the trade in of your old PS2 or Xbox and two original PS2/Xbox games.
Or, connect to Vodafone® from another telco and receive free connection... Does anyone know how much discount do they offer for the ex-Tarbs box? There are some friends of mine and my father in law are waiting for a cheap box to join UBI. Please, let me know if its reasonable price...

I know why they do that. As, I explained on another post to Phil, they just want to stop ppl going back to UBI after joining TV Plus. It will be a bit costly decision for someone who may go back to UBI if the things is not good enough with TV Plus... Anyway, if anyone is would like to sell the box including all its gear "SmartCard & Remote", I/m willing to pay the discount price as it will be used by a pensioner to join to UBI. Thanks for all the support....

fsking,
I know you are. There are thousand of people that would do it. Even I would offer $$$ for a STB3100's, any quantity, but the reality is that people will just think it's too hard. They don't like strange people comming over to offer 'em money for their dish. They'll think it's some sorta scam, bla bla... and they just won't do it.

Same to me, if someone smart enough to realise why the heck they are offering the discount for the box, then they can not buy those boxes to screw you in later time...

Hello All

I go away for a few hrs and the forum is really busy..

Ok 12 month contract is standard go get a mobile phone and you will sign a contract for 12 - 24 mths.

When you consider the costs for Settop box, Irdeto Smart Card and related software plus ongoings for the conditional access alone it costs a fair amount..

So a 12 month contract is reasonable I would think

I would advise people to wait before joining a new company with a 12 month contract. The website doesn't even function or provide updated information.

I am advised that the reason for the settop box change over is to make sure that "Genuine" X Tarbs customers recieve a discount.

TV+ are loosing hand over fist on the NEW installs (TV+ supplies the antenna, STB, LNB, Bracket etc) but TV+ dont want to price the product out of the market.

TV+ also feels sorry for all the EX TARBS customers that were ripped off and lost so much money in the TARBS recivership so TV+ is offering genuine EX TARBS customers a discount to signup for the TV+ Service.

TV+ Dont want ex "FOX$EL or OP$US Vision" customers calling up saying Im an ex TARBS customer I have the antenna etc please do an "existing" install as TV+ will be loosing more $$$

By physically taking the STB TV+ has confirmed that the customer was a former TARBS customer and is due for the discounted install..

Does this make sense???

Cheers

TV Plus can see if they are "genuine" ex TARBS sub when they arrive at the customers residence and see the TARBS box or TARBS paper work. There is no need for the TV Plus to take the IRD when it belongs to the customer.

If TV Plus was doing a "genuine" swap over then fine but the way TV Plus are doing it is wrong as the customer is only "renting" the TV Plus box and no "owning" it like the TARBS box.

I agree with you Satfreak, it is reasonable provided I pay monthly and a minimum install fee. What bothers me is that in couple months time there could be a better deal around, including from TV+. This happened with DigiPlus recently, initially they were signing 12 month contracts but then reduced it to 3 months for the same deal and screwed up their first customers, the most loyal and trusting bunch.

yes what happens to ppl that decide that they dnt want tv plus anymore and decide to change to UBI then it will end up costing the person more cause they will have to re purchase the tarbs box again

as liski said when the installer arrives at the persons house they can see that they have the tarbs box or paper work and thats enough proof

doesnt that make sence??

Ok

TV+ has not been focused on the WWW site just getting all the backends working - Conditional Access, Transmission Agreements etc so

Za sve zainteresovane u Balkanski paket TV Plus, kupite Vesti, Srpski Glas ili slusajte SBS radio svakog dana.

[ 15. maybe customers share the boxes around,...

The decision was made to offer the customers a signifant discount but to insure that no customers or installers do any shiftys the old box MUST come back or the customer will be charged the fee difference,,,

Then you can use the TARBS paper work as evidence or proof. Most customers still have their TARBS paper work.

Liski I will pass your comments on,,,

One thing I can day is Digi+ and DSL is totally different to Sat.

There will be only 1 company offering Balkan services. It is yet to be proved which one it will be.

This company will be offering the same package as perviously and possibly more channels from the region. As all transmission and content agreements are for a number of years the company will want to insure that the revenue is protected and that the customers will be around for the long haul not just loafers...

Look at the larger providers or even the smaller ones like Transact and Neighbourhood Cable they are all min 12 months..

Bedouin,

Do you know how much it is per a customer to subsidise the install? You need to factor in the number of stories of the house. One install could cost up to $500 for a 3 storey house.

Spread the cost over couple years and everybody's happy, provided you believe your business is in for the long run.
