...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...

...SUMMARY...
Severe thunderstorms are not expected on Friday

...Synopsis...

Broad upper level troughing will encompass much of the western half
of the CONUS on Friday. Meanwhile, upper ridging will extending from
the Gulf of Mexico northeastward along the Southeast and
Mid-Atlantic coasts. Moderate west/southwesterly deep-layer flow
will persist across the northern/central Plains and Midwest
vicinity. A moist boundary-layer will persist ahead of an
eastward-progressing surface cold front extending from central WI
into central OK/northwest TX Friday morning. Showers and
thunderstorms will be possible ahead of the front, but weak
low/midlevel lapse rates and meager heating will preclude much in
the way of destabilization. While stronger heating and deeper
boundary-layer moisture will reside ahead of the front across TX,
weak vertical shear and nebulous large-scale ascent will limit
severe potential.
