The green HQ GTS is twice as fast than my CV8 it ran mid to high twelves on the quarter mile in street trim with a Small 308 Engine,And when I drive it its still as good as what it was back in the early days, Remember running mid to high twelves was very fast back in the late seventies early eighties.
In the Brickies street racing days (Underwood road)I use to suck them in because in the early days nobody could make a 308 Holden engine go but I did and after I blew all the 350 chevs/Monaro's
and 351 fords out of the way they keeped away from me and scratched their heads why it went so quick. I have plenty of witnesses that know how fast the car was and two of them come to your office "ASK THEM" (you know who i'm Talking about) At one stage nobody raced me as I had the power the traction and on a quarter they would not beat me. At one stage I got sick of winning so I started to race Bikes only on a rolling start.
Them days are over I'm too old for that shit today and thank God I have some good friend that were with me in those early days and keep reminding me of what we use to get up too in the early days.
As for gearbox and diff it still has the Ford Toploader with modified Hubs and sliders in it, Hurst shifter, (Quick gear changes) and the diff is a 12 bolt Chev. NO BREAKAGES.

Phil
