Too many parents - those who do have challenges - need assistance... They don't need to have the child removed from them... They just need help.
To make the move to HELP the parent instead of ripping the child from the home is out of the question though... No money in that.
It's better for DoCS to remove the child because they get the almighty dollar... Which doesn't get spent on the child anyway.
Forget the damage that it does... Forget the fact that it's a drop in the ocean that has a thousand outward ripples of impact.
Then, when the child is finally returned home he/she has so many problems that the parent has to try and fix - but the parent is left to their own devices and the family is WORSE off than it was to begin with!
