Queensland Child Safety Minister Margaret Keech says the State Government received almost 72,000 calls about alleged child abuse and neglect in the past year.
Ms Keech revealed the figures as part of the World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
She says there are more than 7,000 children in care in Queensland.
