I must say that our family friend brought me over the most delicious piece of birthday cake yesterday. It was a little individual cake from Michele's bakery. It reminds me very much of a petit four, my favourite sweet, in fact, it was a petit four (but more than a bite size). I wish I'd taken a photo, darn it. All I could think was to start eating it. I'll attach a photo of petit fours though for those who do not know the wonders of which I speak.

Anyway, thanks to Jon for the cake, though he will likely never read this! It was exactly what I wanted!
