Arrrrrrrr what a great day I had today I visited 3 new car dealers to see the new model Ford's and Holden's. I visited the Ford Dealer first to see for myself what the new BA looks like, well its ok the preferred are the XR series regardless if they are a six or eight they look very good, the basic model Ford XT compare to the New VY commodore Executive but I hate to say it the ford looks a little better, only a little.
The interior is thumbs up for the Commodore Executive its better than the basic XT ford, but when it comes to the upper models I liked the Commodore SS and especially the commodore SV8.
Now One thing I did notice is All commodore models Executive/Calais/Berlina/S/SV8/SS all have a different combination grill bumper setup also there are 3 different combinations of rear tail lights Hummmmm confusing so we sat there for hours looking side by side to see the difference and they are all completely different and when it comes to that comment of the rear tail lights the SS and the SV8 only share the smokie type of lenses and they look ok especially on the Red car.when it came to interiors shit I am still confused different dashes galore.............. My verdict Fords looks a little better on the XT
and the XR series than the VY commodore excutive and the SV8, SS series, I was not inpressed with the basic "S" model it looked to plain ,Interior and the finish was better in the holdens than the Fords.
The other MAIN concern is the Holdens have been left behind in the HORSEPOWER race and thats not good all new ford engines are overhead cam with either 3 or 4 valve's per cylinder and I hope for Ford sake you dont have to change that overhead cam's chain every 50,000 km's because if you do YOU CAN STICK IT. The chain or the belt what ever the case is should last the life of the engine
Phil

[ 05.
