Today I visited Steve Jones hardware at Albany Creek to get chlorine and I'm told to replace my drum, reason because the bottom plug membrane was drilled out Hummmm, I had to buy a new drum but now that customers have to buy new drums because the old drums are not good enough. How about Steve Jones now supplying for a fair price the proper screwed taps or whatever they call them that can be put on your drums to control the flow of chlorine from your container to a smaller container which you dump in the pool.
Trying to remove the chlorine from any drum with the butt plug blocked is dangerous as air has to replace the chlorine in the drum and it splashes and can easily get into your eyes, but with the correct siamesed valve which allows air to enter whilst expelling the chlorine makes it safe

"Thats the reason why you drill the butt out for easy and safe use"
Phil
