Phil,

Getting back to your original post, things truly are difficult to understand in America, and as of today (my 50th birthday), I have lived here for 50 years. We are, it seems, living in Alice's Wonderland -- right is wrong, up is down, black is white. The maintream media continues to be dominated by the left, which explains to some degree why you see what you see. The name of the game is "destroy Bush" so that Kerry, or any Democrat, can be elected president. The only conclusion I can reach is that it's all about power, at any cost. The liberal press never wants the truth out when it damages the cause, and the power, of the left. The left wants women in the military to be in combat positions, so we were not to know that Jessica Lynch was raped, repeatedly as I understand it. Of course, the truth eventually comes out, but not before most lazy Americans have formed the opinion the media wants them to have. So it goes with the war in Iraq and the so-called torture of those prisoners. I won't condone what our soldiers did to them, but nothing is ever put in proper perspective when it comes to reporting news from the mainstream media in America. The fact of the matter is, these soldiers will be punished, as they should be. The fact of the matter also is, there will never be the same outrage shown towards bag-headed cowards that chop off a man's head. Go figure. We're living in Alice's Wonderland.

Paul
