Moderate 4.7 quake hits near Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.7 quake in Papua New Guinea near Goroka, Eastern Highlands Province, only 16 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Monday 15 March 2021 at 7:52 am local time at an intermediate depth of 115 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
