Magnitude 3.0 earthquake strikes near Milford, Beaver County, Utah, USA 3.0 quake 29 Mar 1:40 pm (GMT -6) Just 23 minutes ago, a 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Milford, Beaver County, Utah, USA. The tremor was recorded around noon on Monday 29 March 2021 at 1:40 pm local time, at a very shallow depth of 2.9 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
A second report was later issued by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), which listed it as a magnitude 3.0 earthquake as well.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Milford (pop. 1,300) located 6 miles from the epicenter, and Minersville (pop. 870) 12 miles away. In Beaver (pop. 3,000, 25 miles away), Louisa (pop. 2,900, 37 miles away), Enoch (pop. 6,300, 39 miles away), and Cedar City (pop. 30,200, 46 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
