An earthquake of magnitude 3.0 occurred in the morning on Monday 31 May 2021 at 7:03 am local time near Santa Monica, Los Angeles County, California, USA, as reported by the United States Geological Survey.
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a shallow depth of 6.3 miles. Shallow earthquakes are felt more strongly than deeper ones as they are closer to the surface.
