Small tremor of magnitude 3.0 just reported 34 miles southwest of Hilo, Hawaii, United States
3.0 quake 29 Aug 1:58 am (GMT -10)

Just 13 minutes ago, a 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Hilo, Hawaii County, Hawaii, USA. The tremor was recorded early morning on Sunday 29 August 2021 at 1:58 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 3.2 miles below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 3.0 as well.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In Pāhala (pop. 1,400, 18 miles away), Volcano Village (pop. 2,600, 20 miles away), Honaunau-Napoopoo (pop. 2,600, 21 miles away), Captain Cook (pop. 3,400, 25 miles away), Mountain View (pop. 3,900, 29 miles away), Holualoa (pop. 8,500, 29 miles away), Kailua Kona (pop. 12,000, 33 miles away), and Hilo (pop. 43,300, 34 miles away), the quake was probably not felt.
