Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency reported a magnitude 4.8 quake in Indonesia near Tobelo, Kabupaten Halmahera Utara, North Maluku, only 14 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the morning on Thursday, October 7th, 2021, at 8:40 am local time at an intermediate to considerable depth of 161 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
