An earthquake of magnitude 4.2 occurred only 8 minutes ago 44 km northwest of Butwal, Nepal, India's National Center for Seismology (NCS) reported.
The quake hit at an intermediate to considerable depth of 177 km beneath the epicenter near Butwal, Rupandehi, Lumbini Province, Nepal, early morning on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021, at 1:15 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage.
