Moderate magnitude 4.8 quake hits 84 km east of Caburan, Philippines in the afternoon 4.8 quake 29 Dec 4:06 pm (GMT +8) The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.8 quake in the Philippines near Caburan, Davao Occidental, Davao, only 15 minutes ago. The earthquake hit in the afternoon on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021, at 4:06 pm local time at a shallow depth of 10 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report. Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
