Just 14 minutes ago, a 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck near Changuinola, Distrito de Changuinola, Provincia de Bocas del Toro, Panama. The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Tuesday, February 22nd, 2022, at 2:43 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 17 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
