Moderate magnitude 4.2 quake hits 65 km north of Maumere, Indonesia in the morning 4.2 quake 7 Mar 11:47 am (GMT +8) Just 16 minutes ago, a 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck near Maumere, East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Monday, March 7th, 2022, at 11:47 am local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Maumere (pop. 47,600) located 65 km from the epicenter.
