Magnitude 4.4 earthquake strikes near San Miguel, Departamento de San Miguel, El Salvador

Just 22 minutes ago, a 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck near San Miguel, Departamento de San Miguel, El Salvador. The tremor was recorded early morning on Thursday, July 28th, 2022, at 4:58 am local time, at an intermediate to considerable depth of 186.5 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the United States Geological Survey, the first seismological agency to report it.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 4.4 as well. A third agency, the citizen-seismograph network of RaspberryShake, reported the same quake at magnitude 4.4.
According to preliminary calculations, we do not expect that the quake was felt by many people and did not cause any damage. In San Alejo (pop. 5,100, 8 km away), San Miguel (pop. 161,900, 18 km away), La Union (pop. 26,800, 22 km away), San Rafael Oriente (pop. 19,100, 34 km away), Santiago de Maria (pop. 15,000, 47 km away), Puerto El Triunfo (pop. 19,100, 57 km away), and Sensuntepeque (pop. 20,400, 82 km away), the quake was probably not felt.
