A magnitude 4.8 earthquake near Saint George, Aleutians West, Alaska, USA, was reported only 24 minutes ago by the United States Geological Survey, considered the key international and national agency that monitors seismic activity in the US. The earthquake occurred at a very shallow depth of 3.5 miles beneath the epicenter early morning on Wednesday, September 27th, 2023, at 1:51 am local time.
