The Indian Ministry of Home Affairs has repatriated IPS officer Rakesh Balwal back to his original cadre in Manipur. Balwal was a member of the NIA team that cracked the Pulwama terror attack case before excelling in handling law and order in Kashmir. The move is aimed at fast-tracking investigations and restoring normalcy in Manipur. Balwal will be assigned a new posting in Manipur upon joining the state. This is the third top appointment MHA has made in Manipur, as part of efforts to address ongoing strife and violence in the region.
